    Amazing year in streaming video!!!

The streaming services have really come a long way. I totally agree PS Vue is head and shoulders above SlingTV in virtually every way. I had both and while I have nothing against Sling, it is simply not at all on the same level as Vue. The best part is no contracts, no equipment fees, no...

    Too many devices error?

We switched from Sling to Vue but from what I remember if you login to WatchESPN app it will still count as your one stream allowed. No way to watch more than one ESPN/Disney stream with Sling that I am aware. Vue gives 5 concurrent streams.

    PAC-12 joins Slingtv

No, you cannot and that is a huge disadvantage compared to Vue. I've tried both services and Vue is a clear winner at this point. I like Sling ok and if that was all that was available I'd be OK with it, but Vue takes it up to a whole other level. More competition is always good, though...

I'm trying out the new SFN TV

I totally agree. I think their sports and news packages (and I think they had a kids package as well) set them apart and gave them a niche that could have appealed to a lot of people. Now there is nothing that I see that would make me want to look at this over PS Vue. I also thought the DVR...

    The Roku 4 is here!

I also saw a lot of comments/complaints about fan noise on the Roku forums. Some say it's like a laptop fan, others say it is very noisy (some appear to possibly be defective). Is this the only streaming box that has a fan? They made it so much larger, is that fan really needed? My concern...

    Roku 3 question (s)

It's also pretty nice when you're running on the elliptical trainer and want to watch something without the noise from the equipment making it hard to hear without turning up the volume a significant amount. I'll run a full "hour" episode, which is a bit over 40 minutes since no commercials...

    picture quality

I can second the Roku app being great. No equipment fee is always a plus.

How are you liking Sling TV?

TNT and TBS are on the service, aren't they? :-)

Time Warner Cable Expands 'Maxx' Upgrade Footprint

Ours was turned on Friday. Don't feel we need more speed (50mbps) so lowered from the top tier down to what was 15 (now 50) and saved $20/month. :biggrin2

Cost for Time Warner Internet and only Internet (no bundle)H

I was wondering the same thing about the regular price FOR the bundles. Found out this week. A couple years ago I was on Dish for TV (somewhere around $120/mo), and had just TWC 15/1 Internet for $57.99. They gave me a great win-back promo and I have all channels TWC offers except for...

Hulu attempts to block international viewers who use VPNs

From what I've seen of Hulu they should be glad anyone is watching, regardless of where.

    Netflix Help

Not sure if some devices may have a problem pulling in this setting. It works correctly on my Panasonic BD player and Roku 3. Haven't tried the Samsung TV app. :)

    Netflix Help

From the Netflix website, go to "Your Account", then "Playback Settings", then under "Preferences" select whether or not you want to "Play next episode automatically". This should import into any device you use. It worked for me. I personally hate the auto play next episode, so I turned it off.

Considering a return to Time Warner

It's old news, obviously...but TWC added NFL Network a few weeks back...enjoying my Red Zone on Sundays! Plus Walking Dead season premiere on AMC tonight...would have missed that with Dish. :D

DISH Drops AMC Networks (AMC Back on DISH channel 131)

Yes, where those who don't carry cable will be fined...and those who cannot afford it will be subsidized by those of us who can. :strike:

Considering a return to Time Warner

The local sales center I called was a kiosk in our local mall where I signed up for service. I had asked the sales rep before he signed me up if they kept boxes on hand. He showed me a stash he had in a drawer in the kiosk and they had one of the boxes I wanted. I asked him if my installer...

    Specific Date for Cancelling?

Yes, you can set a date. When I moved to Time Warner recently due to their great win-back offer the Dish rep asked me what date I wanted the programming to end.

mystery of the loss internet connection

I had something similar happen back when we dropped digital phone with Time Warner and just kept the internet service. After extensive searching around the 'net for a solution I found that the modem that is for the phone service doesn't work well if you don't actually have the phone service. I...

    Cancelling DISH

I just canceled recently due to a great win-back promo from Time Warner. The Dish Rep I spoke to asked if I could safely get to the LNB...so I am sure they do not require it if you cannot. Also, they sent me my boxes for return of equipment and did not charge me at all for them. I have been...

Does Dish Care About Blockbuster Movies at Home (Mail) Service?

The local stores have a plan where you can have unlimited in-store exchanges (nothing by mail). I believe it is $15 per month, half price for the first month. If you lived close enough to the store, you could probably get a lot of value from this, as it isn't all that unlikely to think you...

Well, I'd say they were correct. A year plus IS a "Very Long Wait". :p Sort of like the wait for something in your signature.

Considering a return to Time Warner

Xizer, thank you for your very informative post. As anyone does when determining which provider to go with, I considered numerous factors. Not the least of which is price and TWC gave a very good deal to me and won me back. My experience with Dish Network was very good and I cannot say...

DISH Drops AMC Networks (AMC Back on DISH channel 131)

Everyone else can just skip over this post, but for gpollock. :p We just moved back to Time Warner and we have FearNet and it is a great channel. It has gotten more air time than probably any other channel in our home this past week or so that we've had it. :D Keep up the fight. ;) Oh...
