Could it have anything to do with the quality of the coax coming from the dish? The one i am using is really old and the ends are loose, but i figure if my signal strength is there the audio should be.

Thanks for the response: I have rebooted my reciever a couple times, I have also reset back to factory settings to see if that would clear it up. My DD is set to DD/PCM(I think that's what it is.) I am not sure about the reciever and what that says. I know it displays what audio it is...

Yeah I actually tried both cables and both inputs from my DVD player. And all combinations worked with my DVD player.

I "Moved" to the bay area, and ordered my bay area locals, but it says the signal is out when i turn on the channels. All other channels have a picture. I have a very strong signal and i have got the Chicago locals before. Anyone ran into this problem before?

Well a lot of people do watch these stations. Especially those with kids. I don't really feel like paying for Lifetime, ESPN, News channels, CSPANs, and all 1000 shopping network's for lazy people.

Why should we have to eat a long term contract?? If they just start taking away all the channels we watch should that contract still be valid? I am switching to Directv today.

I really don't know what is going on with this. I just keep seeing some message on my TV that DISH is thinking about taking away some stuff, but 90% of what is on my TV is Spike, Comedy Central, and Nick for the kids. That would suck if it was gone. I would be gone for sure.

I know the story behind the NFL package, that DIRECTV has outbid DISH for the NFL(still not sure why both companies can't show it), but will Dish ever get the MLB package? Is that kind of the same thing that ONLY DIRECTV can get baseball.
