    GEOSATpro GEOSATpro MicroHD boot loop

I just dug the MicroHD out of mothballs and wanted to see if there was any updated firmware. Like others, I had a boot loop issue from having deleted transponders but not deleting the satellite. I ordered the serial cable and discovered that some of the pins needed to be moved to the right...

Inexpensive HD FTA receivers from Far East on e-bay

I recently sold a 'no-name' box to a family that views foreign language programs on G19. They were glad to get it and I was glad to get rid of it. I spent $28 on the box and sold it for $20 and got more than $8 worth of education from it. WooHoo!

What are differences between Dolby and AC3?

In looking at different receivers, some, like Freesat convert AC3 while others, like X2 convert Dolby and AC3. I need to know more... Thanks

Methotrexate once a week and a shot once a week have allowed me to return to an active life. Prednisone didn't do it. Can't drink alcohol. Don't even miss it.

Inexpensive HD FTA receivers from Far East on e-bay

Has anyone tried a "Dolby Digital Optical Coax Toslink to Analog RL RCA Audio Decoder Converter" as seen on the auction site to get dolby audio from one of these boxes? They are cheap enough and come with good ratings.

    AZBOX AZBox Channel List Corruption..........AGAIN???

After using the MicroHD for the last few years, I dusted off the AZBox Premium HD+ to see if it was worth keeping. With that box, I learned a great deal about FTA, buggy software and corruption, linux, FTP, and the personalities that wanted to protect their niche in the market. I think it was...

    OTHER X2 M1HD Issue/Recommendation

Good point. No, I did not. I used a small desk fan and directed it at the box from below, then above. I did not think of drawing air through the box. Thanks...

    OTHER X2 M1HD Issue/Recommendation

FWIW, I tried setting a fan underneath the box and then on top of the box to help cool it. I gained a few seconds of time before the boot loop started again. I will play with the box again today while I wait for a return authorization. This is not my first box. The MicroHD continues to perform...

    OTHER X2 M1HD Issue/Recommendation

Well, now it's my turn. An X2 M1-HD arrived today. During setup, it began the boot loop and when I turned it off, it restarted all by itself and did the boot loop again. I've contacted the seller before searching for solutions on Satellite Guys. This is a timely topic. I purchased one a year ago...

Temporary Mount for 6ft WSI dish (homemade)

Here are a couple more shots. This was a temporary installation until a larger dish could be permanently installed elsewhere. Almost all of the information in setting it up was gleaned from this forum. The dish is no longer installed and the mount now supports some solar panels which can be...

Temporary Mount for 6ft WSI dish (homemade)

Here's a couple of photos of a temporary mount that I made. Shingles on the ground keep the grass from growing. Pallet is reinforced with extra screws. Support arms made from conduit. Fence post for a pole. The main difficulty was keeping the pole plumb since the mount was laid out on frozen...

Signal on 87W increases during rainfall

I left the dish parked on 87w for the last few days just to monitor any changes and the changes were few since the signal ranged between 77-80. 77TA and BPAlone both suggest that the output signal is stronger. I'll have to agree. Dee_Ann's comments about the ground drying out and the dish...

Signal on 87W increases during rainfall

It is raining hard now. My 9ft dish is pointed at 87W and the signal Q from RTV is 75+. On sunny days the signal from RTV is usually so low as to be unwatchable while other transponders are watchable. What is a good explanation for this? Thanks...

SDR (Software Defined Radio) For Satellite

Is there a trick to getting an AM station? I have a station within a few miles that I can't pick up. FM and NOAA are coming in well. Here, I'm using the stock antenna and testing it with a jumper wire to tv antenna's or anything else that looks like it will enhance signal. :-) I also set the...

    GEOSATpro Avoiding the boot loop

I bo't the MicroHD when it first came out, so I've had it about 2 years (I think). I looped it once recently and had to go back to the AZBox HD+ for awhile. I had the most recent updates installed and had installed according to the recommendations. The MicroHD is small and easy to use. It does...
