Dual Hopper Intergration (From Team Summit)

Couldn't have said that better myself. This is exactly what I'm hoping for as well. Small steps toward that are nice, but this is what I'd have in mind for "seamless integration." Will be interesting to see if 1.) this is what Dish has in mind as well and 2.) if they can actually pull it off.

    Shows disappearing from my recordings

The strange thing for me was that the show did actually appear in my recorded list. I tried to play it and just got a black screen. I was able to exit out and try again with the same result. Figured a reboot couldn't hurt, and when it came back up that recording had disappeared. Sometime over...

what is proper hd video format to stream converted bluray

For whatever it's worth, I rip my daughter's DVDs and use Handbrake to convert them to the m4v format, which I then rename to mp4 for compatibility with the Hopper. Doesn't seem to recognize them otherwise.

    Shows disappearing from my recordings

Just thought I'd add that my wife was a little less than pleased with our new Hopper setup (just converted from cable) when the two final episodes of "Smash" disappeared. Software version S212. Very stable otherwise.

No sound from DLNA streaming of MP3 on Joey

Perhaps I've missed this in one of the DLNA streaming threads, but I'm having an interesting problem with MP3 playback on my Joey. I've got a Hopper that I can stream MP3s from my home server all day long without issue. I browse the available folders, pick a song, and let it play. However, when...

    Searching Blockbuster movies on hopper

Interested in the same. Started a similar thread recently, where perhaps I didn't explain myself well, but am wondering exactly the same as a new customer. Would be similarly interested to see if there's an easy way to search the BB on-demand content from my web browser so I at least have a...

    Blockbuster @ Home content

So I'm a new Dish subscriber and got B@H thrown in for free for a few months. I'm a Netflix subscriber but have put my account on hold for the duration of my Blockbuster trial. Coming from Netflix, I'm used to managing both a DVD and Streaming queue, and their PC or PS3 app allows me to choose a...

Forgot about family referral when setting up new service - DIRT?

You think? Was like pulling teeth getting what I did.

Forgot about family referral when setting up new service - DIRT?

That was a good call. I opened a new chat with them, got transferred to a supervisor, and was able to get $30 ($5/6mo.) of the $50 credit. Unfortunately got nothing for my family member. But, it is better than nothing and prevents the headache of canceling and reordering service. Thanks for the...

Forgot about family referral when setting up new service - DIRT?

Thanks as usual to the DIRT team for their responsiveness. Ultimately I should've done my homework beforehand on understanding the process, as any deviation from that just doesn't leave much in the way of options. Real bummer to miss out on the benefits, but rules are rules. I'll just have to...

Forgot about family referral when setting up new service - DIRT?

So I screwed up and forgot to mention a referral from a family member when setting up new Dish service. I know now that there's a formal process for this and that it should have been followed before the account went active, which was two whole days ago. I'm trying to get this handled after the...

    Easy RSN clarification

Thank you, that was exactly the information I was looking for! And for the record, it does include FSMW.

    Easy RSN clarification

I think this should be easy, but three different CSRs have told me three slightly different things. I live in Kansas City. I want to make sure that the Top 250 package I've ordered (as a new customer) will include Fox Sports Midwest so that I can see the KC Royals and St. Louis Blues games I...

DIRT Team Request - Pre-installation question

Just sent you a PM, Matt. This does boil down to a LOS issue, and I think there will be advantages to going with the eastern arc. Thanks!

DIRT Team Request - Pre-installation question

I am a new customer and have a hopper/joey installation scheduled for this Saturday morning. As a Kansas City resident, I understand that I have the option of either an Eastern or Western Arc installation. Using the information I've found online and the Google Maps tool, it looks like the...

    Dish mounting/installation question

I know you're right... lots of factors that make it a tough question to answer. But I think I've got some great info now that has put my mind at ease on the mounting point options. We'll see what happens on Saturday.

    Dish mounting/installation question

Cool site. It looks like western arc line-of-sight would pass directly through my house from that corner (unless mounted at the roof, which is essentially 3rd story height due to my sloping yard), but eastern arc is totally clear. After doing a little bit of searching here, it seems that my...

    Dish mounting/installation question

So I'm moving from cable to Dish with an installation scheduled for next weekend. It's my understanding that the dish they install will point generally south. However, my cable comes into the north side of the house on the east corner, and that's where I have patch panels for cable, phone...

    Refusing 2nd Joey for a 2H/1J configuration?

Got a confirmation email only moments ago that has this in it, which is encouraging: CORRESPONDING RECEIVER(S) TO BE INSTALLED 1 Whole Home DVR Service 2 Receiver Hopper 1 Receiver Joey

    Refusing 2nd Joey for a 2H/1J configuration?

Just to provide an update on the original question... the very first Dish CSR that I chatted with involved his supervisor, and I suppose the leverage I bring as a new customer was enough for them to place a special order for 2 hoppers and 1 joey. They did mention along the way that it was a...

    Refusing 2nd Joey for a 2H/1J configuration?

Programming is a bit important to me too. And strangely it's the music that is pretty compelling. My family has two Sirius lifetime subscriptions and we listen to our current (crappy) mix of music stations from our cable provider quite a bit. I'd love to have SiriusXM's lineup available through...

    Refusing 2nd Joey for a 2H/1J configuration?

I'd like to know this as well. I've really only looked at Dish's H/J technology so I suppose shouldn't rule out Directv. If I have 3 TVs and want to watch recorded programming on any of them, as well as have the ability to pause live TV on any of those 3 TVs, what does that setup look like and...

    Refusing 2nd Joey for a 2H/1J configuration?

That's an interesting perspective, thanks for replying. I don't know any local resources, but if anyone can recommend someone in the Kansas City area, I'm glad to go that direction.

    Refusing 2nd Joey for a 2H/1J configuration?

I'll soon be switching from local cable to Dish, and we've thought long and hard about how we use our current DVRs and how we think we'll use Dish's new Hopper. Across our two current DVRs we've got 4 tuners and believe, based on what we record and how we watch TV, that we'll need 2 Hoppers. As...

    Hopper Upgrades

I would like to be contacted by a DIRT team member in regards to a new subscription (converting from local cable). Believe I may need your special assistance in requesting a 2 hopper-1 joey configuration, which will become a 2 hopper-2 joey configuration later this year (just don't want/need the...
