    Wireless Joeys

Do the wireless joeys require a different hopper than the 2000 ?

    Roku 3 Issue

I will try to be as brief as possible. I have tinnitus very bad and use a recording of rain via headphones to mask it out while I sleep. I have been using a Roku 2 (2720RW) with remote headphone jack and streaming the rain mp3 from my desktop using Roku media player. I recently got a Roku 3...

New Joeys are made in India--not China

I'm curious about the upcoming wireless Joey. Both of my Joeys have been wireless via the usb adapter for a long time and I have never had any issues. What is different about the so called wireless Joey ? In fact, I have had the two Joeys which are on 5.8ghz and two Roku on 2.4ghz all going at...

    Hopper 2K S423 Joey S362 Software Update

Hate the new info screen. Cluttered up with useless "you might also like". So much crap on the page that it truncates the descriptions (which is what the info page is for) if they are over a couple of lines. I already know what I like and what I want to watch.

    Hopper Standby

Thanks but the inactivity timer has always been disabled. Never experienced this until S418. Have had this hopper for almost 2 years. Since 418 and only after the guide update it will standby a couple of times about 30 min apart. Just goes into standby, no warning. After that all is fine...

    Hopper Standby

Since the last software update my Hopper goes into standby even after the guide update. I turn it back on after the guide update finishes and it will standby 2 or 3 more times after that. Anyone else experience this ?

    Home Media

This may be old news but: This home media server works great with the Hopper and also has a ROKU app. You can get it for free here: http://www.playon.tv/mymedia

    Slow channel changing on hopper

Its an observation. No where in my post did I suggest that I was bitching.

    Slow channel changing on hopper

Mine is a regular Hopper. I have had it about a year. I will also add that I am sure its not heat related. I have a laptop cooler under it and the avg HD temp is 109. I have no other issues with the Hopper other than being slow to respond to remote commands.

    Slow channel changing on hopper

Since the last software update my Hopper has become as slow as Christmas. The Joeys are fine however. It takes the Hopper around five seconds to respond to any button pressed on the remote. IE: If I direct input a channel on the remote (say 205), I have to press 2 and wait around five seconds...

    Hopper S229 / S230 Feedback!

Had S230 when I got home around 2:00am. Joeys were updated as well. Bluetooth works perfectly with my KINIVO headset and I am getting all 10 of my locals with 70+ signal strength.

    Irritating !

That's a good idea. Unfortunately it doesn't work if you are watching DVR on a Joey. It wants to shut down anyway.

    Irritating !

Due to my schedule I normally watch recorded events from around midnight to 2:00am. It seems to me that it would be easy to fix the software so it doesn't try to power down while watching a DVR event or, at least, make it like the rest of the receivers where you can change the time that it...

    Can't find "resume" DVR function

When you pause an event while it is recording, you are only pausing the live feed, the recording continues. I don't believe it's possible to do what you are saying. It is my understanding that the recorded event has to be completed for it to have full MRV functionality.

    MOCA with DISH

I don't know if other MOCA adapters are compatible with an HIC or not but here is how I am set up. I have one HIC connected to the router. A second HIC in the bedroom where I am pulling off ethernet for a BluRay player. I have a third HIC about 100 feet away in my shop where I am pulling off...

    Stand for hopper?

I put a laptop cooler under mine. HD never exceeds 103 degrees, avg HD temp 97. Before the cooler it was running 135 on the high side.

    Hopper is a strange device

Hopper and Joeys have been working great since I got S221. A couple of days ago my wife wanted caller ID enabled so I connected the phone line and enabled caller ID. Everything continued to work fine until we received a call. After the hopper displays the caller ID the Joeys will no longer...

    Windows Media Server - Hopper

I stand corrected !! It appears that the H/J only likes mpeg 2 or mpeg 4. I was unaware that my daughter had converted all the other video files (avi and such) to mpeg 4.

    Windows Media Server - Hopper

According to the manual it will work with XP but I think you have to manually share the folders you want to stream.

    Windows Media Server - Hopper

Using AllShare I am able to play just about any common video format. mpeg2, mpeg4, wmf, swf, avi, etc. The only format I have trouble with are VOB files. Which formats are you having trouble with ? AllShare will automatically share your pictures, video, and music libraries in Win 7. If you have...

    DLNA How too help

I don't like the Win7 media server setup. I use a free media server which is Samsung AllShare. It is very easy to set up and works great with Win 7 and the Hopper/Joeys. If fact, when you install the software it will set up and share all library folders which have media files in them...

Internet connection cause of Joeys looking for Hoppers?

My experience has been this: Hopper with 2 Joeys Hopper connected via wireless bridge - Tons of problems with bridging on or off. Hopper hard wired to router - Frequent problems with bridging on or off. System connected via HIC - Some problems but the least amount of problems. No network...

    Windows Media Server - Hopper

If you are wanting to play media files on your Hopper/Joey from your PC I would recommend Samsung AllShare. It works great, simple to set up, and a very good media server. You can download it free from the Samsung website.

    Hopper freezing

It is a Hopper Internet Connector. A box that connects to your router and supplies network to the Hopper and Joeys via the coax (Moca). If you have a dish tech comming out I would get him to install one. He should provide it for free but if not you can find them on Ebay for around twenty bucks...
