Moving, how do I get new equipment that will work with one of my old DVR's

How about my current rented direct tv HD receiver? Could I just plug that into the new system and have that work or do I need something different to get that set up?

Moving, how do I get new equipment that will work with one of my old DVR's

I am moving, and I've been a DirecTV customer for 20 years. I have an old standard def TiVo DVR and a high def DirecTV rental DVR. I would like to be able to use both or at the very least the high-def DVR with the new Genie equipment that I am going to be getting when I move. Is this possible...

I answered my own question. The old SD dvr will not get signal with the converters in play.

Do I need the B-band converters if I want to connect my old SD DVR-10 box?

I recently had a non-swm LNB upgrade to HD. I am now adding back my DVR-10 into the mix. Will I need b-band converters or can I just temporarily remove them, use my old box for a short period and then re-connect the b-bands when I want to put the HD receiver back in play? Can I just leave the...

On demand hep- can you limit it to just channels that you have?

I must not be using the on demand correctly. I am flooded with channels I do not subscribe to. I can't seem to see one movie that I can actually get for free. I just got the service yesterday, but at this point, it does not seem valuable to me. I thought I would be able to filter it to just...

Getting an HD dvr install next week - please help make sure I get the right dish to work with my SD

Yep, I have to coax cables running into my r-10. So the key is I need a non -swm lnb. Do those LNBs require a power booster like the swm?

Getting an HD dvr install next week - please help make sure I get the right dish to work with my SD

We are not going to use my smw lnb or my slimline dish. I was given that for free and never installed it, based on the info I got from here the last time. So, we are looking at a fresh HD install. I have my 15 year old sony oval dish in play at the moment. So, I may be able to specify which...

Getting an HD dvr install next week - please help make sure I get the right dish to work with my SD

I am still a little confused. I thought there was no way to make my dvr -r10 work with a slimline dish, no matter how it was wired. I am going to attach my old post from months ago when I was thinking of doing this. Please take a quick look, as I got a lot of great help from you guys. I just...

Getting an HD dvr install next week - please help make sure I get the right dish to work with my SD

I am getting an HD DVR and dish installed next week. I want to make sure that the new dish that I get will work with my SD DVR that I have now. I have a DVR R-10 with Tivo. I learned on this forum that this dvr would not work with a slim line 3 dish that I got for free. So, I did not bother...

Directv told me that I could keep my current DVR and have it in another room. But, from what I am learning hear, that is not true. Do I get to specify which dish I want?

Please help with slim SL3S4NR2-01 with a standard definition dvr

ok, this should be the last question: Will I be able to keep my DVR R10 as a second receiver? If I hook the power inserter up to a brand new HD DVR, can I still keep my SD dvr in another room, or is there no way to use this SD DVR? Thanks.

Please help with slim SL3S4NR2-01 with a standard definition dvr

Thanks Raoul, I may have confused the issue. The DVR that I am currently using is a Directv DVR R10. It has TIVO technology. So, it is a Directv DVR and has the Directv symbol on it. But, it also has a small TIVO badge. It is not a standalone DVR made by TIVO. Will the SWM 3 LNB work with...

Please help with slim SL3S4NR2-01 with a standard definition dvr

OK thanks. What powers the LNB on my SD sony dish? If my SD dvr powers it and thereby has it's own power source, will the additional power inserter cause problems? Can these power inserters only be used with HD receivers? Thanks.

Please help with slim SL3S4NR2-01 with a standard definition dvr

I acquired a relatively new slimline dish, the multiswitch, but no power inserter. I am considering upgrading to an HD DVR. But, I want to hook this dish up to my standard DVR in the meantime. This way I will be ready when I make the decision and I hear the larger dish gets better reception...
