Do I need the B-band converters if I want to connect my old SD DVR-10 box?

I recently had a non-swm LNB upgrade to HD. I am now adding back my DVR-10 into the mix. Will I need b-band converters or can I just temporarily remove them, use my old box for a short period and then re-connect the b-bands when I want to put the HD receiver back in play? Can I just leave the B-bands in or would it harm the SD box? THanks.

I answered my own question. The old SD dvr will not get signal with the converters in play.

What is a dvr-10? Is it an HR250-10? If it's an older non mpeg4 box like that one, then you can leave the bbcs in place.

since its a SD receiver the BBC's are not needed. Those are only for HD

But his box doesn't see the 99 or 103, so you would think that the converter wouldn't do anything and he should get his signal on the 101 and be able to watch SD programming.

That's why I was saying it shouldn't matter if they were left in place. That's assuming it's not an mpeg4 hd dvr. The op hasn't come back to tell us.
