Unless the VP of Marketing is also a CSR, I would not worry too much about that comment. The sales of HDTV are still going up and prices are falling. They may not rush as quickly to ramp up HDTV offering but will probably do it so that the quality is there instead... hopefully

I might have them come have a look but those trees are 60' high and very wide. Plus I have a single story house. My OTA are on this side and I can barely get my PBS channel that's just over 11 miles in the same tree cluster.

Thanks guys but based on your help, the birds are on the worst line of my property for line of sight, the coverage is so bad in that area that I can't even see the sky.

On directv website, if you go to the self-install section, you can enter your zip code and it will give you azimuth and elevation. For me it's right in front of a 60' pine tree and most of the rest of the big trees in my neighborhood

On Dish website, I found a program that gives you the azimuth for your zip code. Unfortunately, the line of sight is right in the thickest part of my tree coverage... Looks like it's back to cable for me

When I feel that the PQ is down I look at signal quality, most often than not that is down. I agree that the SD on a HDTV set, both my tvs are4:3 with a 16:9 mode is a lot softer on many channels and anywhere from worst to better than Comcast.
