New to me antenna question and identification help

I guess at this point I am wondering if anyone knows brand/model of the antenna. My new location seems to be providing more reliable service than my prior location on my roof. I did drop two channels today but intermittently.

New to me antenna question and identification help

I will put up pictures shortly as I just moved the antenna to a different location. I did move the balun to the original connectors and not the "middle". To give you an example of what strength I am getting. The new setup is roughly 90 feet from my house. Once in the house, I am splitting 4...

New to me antenna question and identification help

So I picked up a new to me antenna a few weeks ago and have been using it since then. I am considering a new mounting location as I have been having reception issues. During dismounting and testing I realized that maybe the balun was in the wrong spot but am not sure. The issues I have...

    Antenna for father

My father lives about 4 miles SE of Mankato. It is going to be a stretch but his best chance is St. James. Thinking a fringe rated antenna with a 30db preamp is our best shot. Trying to decide between the 91XG or HD9032. Any thoughts? The 91xg appears to be the best...

    Antenna for father

In my research this morning, I realized that going the UHF only route twoards St. James would be the better option. I know we can pickup a cheap VHF antenna for the CBS and Fox on KEYC if need be.

    Antenna for father

I don't disagree with the local appliance guy, I am just looking for other opinions on the situation. I like to research things like this a little bit as I know that the correct antenna will make a big difference in the "success" of this adventure. I appreciate your input boba.

    newbie needs help selecting antenna

Ok so close to three months running on over the air TV. I did adjust the antenna a bit and the reception is much better. I have noticed that during the extreme humid levels, the signal fades in and out a bit on a few channels but normal humidity levels it is great. I do not miss my poor...

    newbie needs help selecting antenna

yes. The only difference was that antenna was sitting on a 2x4 instead of on the roof deck. So yes it could make a difference. The worst is 29-1 however 29-2 (sd version of 29-1) is consistently 90% signal strength. 29-3 and 29-4 are in the mid 80's. However 29-3 &29-4 occasionally drop...

    newbie needs help selecting antenna

Update - finished installing an antennacraft HDX 1000 tonight. (chose this one as I liked the look and it worked for what I needed). I get 30 channels or so. The picture is amazing compared to my 480i cable service. Question for you though. I tried about 20 different locations using a...

    newbie needs help selecting antenna

Thanks for the input. Greatly appreciated. Channel 30 does come in with a bit more powerful antenna from what I hear. I will have to ask at Radio Shack as the last time I was there, I asked to about other antennas that they eventually found in the backroom. Another question for you posters...
