As a newbie, I didn't understand that the Nano was different from the Mini HD SE. I have a Mini, not a nano. Would my backup satellite list therefore not work for his nano? I got my Mini HD SE from GOTCBAND.

I am new to the Amiko, just got mine last week. It came with a notice to back up the firmware immediately. While that is a good idea, I don't know why Amiko doesn't have a backup file for download on their website for situations like yours. If Amiko, your seller or KE4EST can't send you a backup...

I have a VIP622, don't subscribe to locals, and have been getting guide data for local channels since yesterday.

I am grandfathered as well, America's Top 250 for 59.99 (no locals included) plus $10.00 for HD Platinum. It seems that the OP was grandfathered. I don't see why adding HD would change that.

I agree with covering the side eyes. I tried to peak my dish, ended up shifting so that the pickups were getting the wrong satellites and one was not being seen at all. If you cover the two outer ones and run check switch, it will show you which satellite the middle pickup is getting. Roy
