DISH to work with the Google Assistant

Not sure if you are talking Google, but if so, you should be able to open the Home app and assign unique Nicknames to each of them. I have 2 Joeys, and I just nicknamed them Joey 1 and Joey 2. You can also assign rooms to each of them in the Home app, too. Google is reported to be releasing room...

DISH to work with the Google Assistant

Thanks. What I'm really going for here is to hear from any other users in this community that they are, or aren't experiencing this problem, that Google Voice Assistant on Dish errors when given a command to switch to a channel number. I want to be able to isolate whether I may have a localized...

DISH to work with the Google Assistant

Could you share where it has been reported? I've been searching for something about it for the last couple of days, but found nothing. I would really appreciate knowing what that source is, for future reference.

DISH to work with the Google Assistant

Since Wednesday, Google Assistant errors off for me on any voice command to switch to a channel number. Channel names work fine. Am I the only one experiencing that problem?

DISH to work with the Google Assistant

Another few years and we probably will be able to just think "ESPN" and it will switch. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

DISH to work with the Google Assistant

I'm not seeing all of that verbosity and multi-room changes so far. If I say "switch the Hopper to CNN", it changes the hopper to CNN and responds almost instantly with "OK, switching to CNN on the Hopper". If I say "Switch Joey 2 to NBC", it switches Joey 2 to NBC and responds with "Switching...

    PT not recording!

Thanks. That worked for us. I had a feeling that it had something to do with the contract dispute with Capitol Broadcasting, but it hadn't occurred to me that I could enable or disable the individual networks that way.

    Hopper Upgrades

I'm a current customer, out of contract, and want to replace my pair of 722's with a Hopper with sling, an OTA Module and 2 Joeys. (I'm assuming the Hopper doesn't come with an OTA input, except as an option.) I'm also assuming the purpose of this mechanism is to avoid having to go through the...

SatelliteGuys Review: Logitech Revue with GoogleTV – A Diamond in the Rough

Logitech has it available for $99. The price shows initially as $299, but it will go to $99 when you put it in the cart for purchase. Logitech Revue

Thanks for the source link. I think Google is taking the right action to accelerate adoption. I alerted my brother to the price drop. He and his wife have been considering a purchase - now he will have a better reason to buy one. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk

SatelliteGuys Review: Logitech Revue with GoogleTV – A Diamond in the Rough

That price drop should make it a much more compelling buy. Assuming the Revue has sufficient horsepower to support the update, I agree it is a very good deal. We've been pretty happy with ours. It's not perfect, but we use ours every day for Amazon Instant Video, Netflix, Music play, and...

SatelliteGuys Review: Logitech Revue with GoogleTV – A Diamond in the Rough

You can probably put this in the category of really dumb questions, but I've been assuming that HBOGO and MAXGO will only be available to HBO and MAX subscribers - true?

SatelliteGuys Review: Logitech Revue with GoogleTV – A Diamond in the Rough

There is also the interests of the local broadcasters. Internet alternative paths such as Google TV are a direct revenue threat to them, and when and if they become common, could destroy them, and damage the network infrastructure. Long term, I think that is what will actually happen, and...

SatelliteGuys Review: Logitech Revue with GoogleTV – A Diamond in the Rough

There's still a $30-$50 differential between those prices and the DISH discount offer at $179, and I was told in an earlier post on this thread that you can cancel the $4 monthly subscription with minimal loss of integration, so it could still be relevant for anyone on a budget. I don't doubt...

SatelliteGuys Review: Logitech Revue with GoogleTV – A Diamond in the Rough

The last page of the promo brochure says "Available with compatible DISH Network receiver models only (VIP 622, 722 and 722k)", so it looks like it either can't be used, or isn't being offered by DISH with the discounted price for VIP222's.

SatelliteGuys Review: Logitech Revue with GoogleTV – A Diamond in the Rough

Thanks for that info. I just got mine this afternoon and installed. Things went very smoothly. I've just begun to check out its capabilities - Flickr albums look great, and we enjoy the slideshows, although I did manage to hang it once, popping in and out of a very large album. Interesting...

SatelliteGuys Review: Logitech Revue with GoogleTV – A Diamond in the Rough

That is very interesting. Hadn't even considered that twist, and I don't recall that Dish mentioned that in the promo material or the web store. I wonder how it would behave without the integration. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk

SatelliteGuys Review: Logitech Revue with GoogleTV – A Diamond in the Rough

I'm still thinking about whether it's worth the $4 a month or not, to me, to have the transparency of a coordinated interface along with its features. At least they provide a 30 day return, so I won't be locked into it unless I decide to keep it. The surprise I expressed in my last post was...

SatelliteGuys Review: Logitech Revue with GoogleTV – A Diamond in the Rough

I'm considering the Revue, after gettng the $179 offer from Dish, but I was quite surprised to see that Dish is charging a "$4.00 Monthly DVR Integration Service added at time of purchase." I'm surprised even more that no one has been disturbed by that policy on this thread.

    Sling Adaptor Field Reviews

While my Sling Adapter is working better than ever, generally, I noticed yesterday and today that I can't delete recordings from the Droid X, or the iPhone 3g. I just get an "Unknown Error" on either device. I don't see that problem via browser. I don't know if the problem has been around...

    Sling Adaptor Field Reviews

I just ran my iPhone, then the Droid X successfully, playing recordings, going back to live broadcasts, switching between live channels and back to recorded, all on the same login on each device, so maybe things have improved on the network. Are you still having the problem with the iPhone & iPad?

    Sling Adaptor Field Reviews

I haven't ever used a Wi-Fi range extender, so I don't know about that. Too bad you can't relocate the router to an area closer to your Wi-Fi connects, so that you could avoid that requirement. I did, however, want to follow up on the comment I made about my initial inability to access my...
