One RSN switched to 24/7 HD on 10/29

I'm a Celtics fan and am extremely happy about this. For those who are not so excited.... it's better than nothing.

    DirecTV-2-PC Public Beta

Good question. I've had my HR21 connected to my network (and thus the internet) so I can use VOD for about 5 months now (I *moved*) and they have not said a peep to me about it.

Weather Channel: Locals on the 8's

Does anyone know if the new interactive stuff on TWC also includes local alerts (like watches and warnings that pop up when in affect)? I think that would be great, and even a feature they could maybe let you enable no matter what channel you are watching, so you'll always know about severe...

Weather Channel: Locals on the 8's

No problem, and you're welcome. I'll do anything to break up my work day, including tedious screenshots (and blurring out my email address in Photoshop on all of them). :)

Weather Channel: Locals on the 8's

Screenshots I took some screenshots of each screen. I lost one of them along the way somewhere, but this gives you the gist of things.

Will DirecTV make HD programming "standard" (no extra cost)?

I don't have as big a problem with the $10 HD Access charge as I do with the Super Fan charges on the various sports packages. The $10 HD Access fee should get you the HD counterpart (if available) for whatever you are paying to receive, such as MLB Extra Innings or NFL Sunday Ticket.

    Searching for blackouted games feature?

Does anyone know if the Game Search feature will be coming to H21 receivers any time? I have it on my HR21, but H21 just tells me the game is not available in my area and doesn't offer to search.

    Guide Question

I like to have both visible, so when I want to record a program that's in SD, I record it from the SD channel in order to save hard drive space on my DVR.

    Momentary black screen on ESPN?

I'd like to piont out that it's not happening on Cox in Southington, CT n'or Comcast in Waterbury, CT. I do see it on DirecTV like the rest of us, though.

    LIN and D* reach agreement

Sweet, I hope the same goes for Connecticut and our ABC affiliate at least, if not also our MyTV affiliate.

    LIN and D* reach agreement

I just emailed WTNH and got a real response from their program manager. He said that DirecTV hasn't given them a launch date or timeframe just yet. He will try and get back to me when he gets the info. It would be awesome if it's before the end of the NBA Finals, but then again I hope the...

    LIN and D* reach agreement

I believe it was a very short time between the time DirecTV signed the deal with Tribune, and the time they turned on our local Tribune owned stations (CW and FOX). Hopefully it will be the same with the LIN stations here in CT.

DISH Network Charges Forward With Another Round of National HD Channel Launches

I am not protected by the OTARD rules in my situation. It states that I can put up a dish in an area that I have exclusive use of like a deck or patio, as long as the dish is entirely in my owned area. I don't have such an area. I have a railing 2 inches outside my sliding door, where if I...

DISH Network Charges Forward With Another Round of National HD Channel Launches

Hey Scott, Do you know if Comcast Sportsnet New England HD will be a 24/7 feed, or games only? This latest batch of channel launches (especially CSNNE HD) has me considering Dish (since my HOA won't allow me to get DirecTV, only Dish). Also, I thought that NESN HD was games only, am I right...

    Indoor install of slimline?

The thing is I'm not really dissatisfied with Cox, but rather I like what DirecTV has to offer, like Sunday Ticket, and MLB Extra Innings in HD. Not worth moving for.

    Indoor install of slimline?

I've attached a picture from the outside. I'm the top floor. My balcony is a pathetic excuse for a balcony, I call it a falcony. It's basically like this, I open the slider and I have about 2 inches of brick underneath, and then there's the railing. Any install on the railing itself would...

    Indoor install of slimline?

Well I got my old round dish and reciver (ancient) and brought them to my condo tonight. First I tried with the sliding glass door and screen open, so nothing in my way. I immediately got 99 signal strength for 101, sweet! So then I tried it with the screen closed, signal lost completely...

    Indoor install of slimline?

Thanks for the response, I didn't think they'd do this sort of install. It looks like if I want to do this, I'm giong to have to purchase my dish and receivers elsewhere, a place with a return policy of course, in case I am unable to get my 99 and 103 satellites. But I'm getting ahead of...

    Indoor install of slimline?

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I'll be stopping by my parents house tomorrow to pick up my old 18" round and hopefully dig up an old DirecTV receiver. If I'm able to get a good signal through my glass, then I'll have to think about diong the slimline. If it were to be permanent I'd...

    Indoor install of slimline?

If this is what you're talking about (http://www.dishnetwork.com/downloads/pdf/LLP_Release_Form.pdf), it states what I said above. In my situation I have no outdoor exclusive area to install the dish in, therefore I would need the blessing of my HOA to install in a common area, to which they...

    Indoor install of slimline?

I've read through all of the FCC laws, and there are none that help me. The laws do not apply to common property, like the roof or side of the building. As far as my balcony goes, the dish would be hanging over common property which the rule specifically states it cannot protect me against, so...

    Indoor install of slimline?

Even if I am unable to get a signal with the round dish, I intend to leave it right in front of the sliding glass door, shades wide open, in hopes that someone actually tries to complain about the ugliness of it. They can't do anything about what I have in my condo, and I'll just be like "all I...

    Indoor install of slimline?

So I've exahausted all options, and my homeowners assocaition will not let me install a dish either on the roof, anywhere on the building, or on my balcony beacuse the dish will hang over. Examining the direction in which my dish would be facing, I may have a clear shot at the proper...

Do DirecTV installers use railing mounts?

True. I have a feeling their concern wouldn't be about safety since air conditioners hang out of windows all over the place. I'm pretty sure they won't like it beacuse it'll be an eye sore. I'll give it another shot with them today, but I doubt they'll let me go through with this idea.

Do DirecTV installers use railing mounts?

Unfortunatley I just looked at this FCC OTARD fact sheet, and it seems I won't have the law on my side: Q: Does the rule apply to condominiums or apartment buildings if the antenna is installed so that it hangs over or protrudes beyond the balcony railing or patio wall? A: No. The rule...
