I've been overseas for a while, and I can't get a straight answer regarding the update/swap out with the HR10-250. I live in the DC area, so I know they are broadcasting the locals in mpeg 4 now, and I did buy a new hd receiver (with no tivo), but I still have the old dish as I had purchased...

so what do I have to do to get my HR10-250 upgraded? call them, and let them know my situation? when do the new channels go into effect? i live in the DC broadcasting area. thanks

what do I need to do for the upgrade? I have the older model, so I have to imagine they are exchaning the old HD-DVR's for newer one's that are compatible with the mpeg4 format.... or am I completely off base here

i'm in the dc area, and no word... plus I couldn't wait any longer for hd, so I just had the mpeg 2 dish installed, and my hr10-250 hooked up, so I'm loving life now, but what's gonna happen later. plus my hdmi port is kaput.... go figure

thanks for the reply. my problem is I bought it on ebay, and didn't read the fine print... thing came with a bad hdmi port.... but supposedly the manufactureres warranty is still valid.... not sure where to go from there. is the picture that different from the component and/or s-video and hdmi...

I recently bought an hr10-250 as well, and the HDMI port is dead. how hard of a time do you get when you try to get a replacement? what steps do I need to take?
