    Under the Dome

Under the dome along with Big Brother has been the staple of summer TV for me thus far for "new episodes". There is of course episodes of pawn stars/hard core pawn/American pickets etc that get recorded that I haven't seen yet but UTD and BB are the shows I look forward to every week. Breaking...

    Full 2 hopper integration coming?

I would definitely welcome an option for an integrated approach. 3 sat tuners plus 1 ota tuner does NOT cut it for a decent amount of series/timers and 3 joey's plus the hopper. You can manage the 2nd hopper if you baby it every week but 6/8 tuners with the software controlling the timers and...

    Dish install tomorrow - questions/requests?

I had my hopper and joey system installed last week and the tech originally installed the older hopper and he had to swap it out with the newer one after I mentioned that it should be the HWS. He wasn't very happy bout that but he also didn't read the work order properly..

More dropouts on factory installed unit than my portable

My xm always cuts out in certain areas where i frequently drive whereas my sirius hasn't dropped out yet that I can remember. Works perfectly in my garage even. Tis been this way ever since I got both of them (got both on launch week)

    Splitting TV 2 Signal

Please buy some bulk RG6 from lowes or home depot or your local dish/direct/cable truck sitting somewhere and not anything they try to throw at you at radio shack. Nothing but problems come from radio shack...atleast in the CATV industry it seems. Also, compression fittings are the only thing...

SIRIUS User Since Day 1 - CANCELLED!

I just bought a new Tahoe that had factory XM in it, and it sounds aboslutely horrible. If I stream it from my evo to the aux input jack it sounds much better. I have sirius in my other vehicle and that sounds better (not amazing) but sound quality on both is very bad now. I got xm and sirius...

    Sirius Lifetime Sub BEWARE!

I'm still shocked and half irritated that people would just assume its for THEIR lifetime. Of course it's for the lifetime of the product...I didn't have to read any fine print to figure that one out. I saw "lifetime subscription" and instantly assumed that it was for however long the product...

    The quality of HD channels?

THAT is a very good point, and the non "standard" resolutions are something i was aware of from back in the day of rainbow and Voom when dish claimed there was a temporary uplink problem but it never even crossed my mind that it would be a factor if the box sent it out like that... it makes...

    The quality of HD channels?

is there any reason why these receivers don't have a "native resolution" output setting? All of the newer comcast boxes have a native resolution passthrough, or options to select all the formats your tv supports and then the receiver will go from there. On the dish boxes, I have to pick 1...

My friend is already regretting getting a 922

I haven't had any issues at all with mine, I've only had it for about 5 days though. I think it is by far the best reciever I have ever used or seen from any company. It would be neat if they could add streaming video from youtube or your own media server atleast that would be a great addition...

Would choose MPEG2 or MPEG4 (eastern vs western)

Given the choice, would you guys have eastern or western arc installed in your house? I have Eastern currently, but have the option to go western as well for about $25. For anybody thats had both or has compared both, would you make a preference over one or the other? I heard the western arc...

    What is the best choice?

I my area (Twin Cities, MN) I've never dealt with a contractor from Dish - I've always had DNS Employees and I've had nothing but good luck with them. I just had a guy out today and he was fantastic! I wish I could request him specifically for future work. Around here, the Dish guys seem quite...

    HD PQ Question

Before I get too far, I want to say out of "disclosure" that I'm a field services Lead Tech for Comcast Inhouse. That being said, I moved recently and at my previous house I had Dish, along with Comcast. I get Comcast for free, just have to pay for anything above 2 boxes. When I moved in, I...

    high performance splitter?

I can say 99 times out of 100 when I encounter DIY wiring in a customers home, the problem lies at one of 3 main spots - 1. - Bad Fittings. (screw on, crimp on, etc - people seem to thing braiding sticking out is good? Wrong.) Get a compression tool, and some Digicon or PPC fittings. 2...

DISH FIRST TO OFFER TV SERIES IN 1080P RESOLU

What can a 722 do without service?

I wonder if they would be like the old Motorola VOOM Boxes that worked as OTA tuners even after voom itself ceased to broadcast as a company? That would be nice!

Dish Network 21.0 Learning Remote Instructions

For everybody that has ordered this from dish - Are you recieving 1 or 2 remotes? I found people on Ebay selling the remotes as TV1 and TV2 set (TV1 = IR, TV2=IR+UHF)...but everybody on here seems to be referring to their shipment from dish as a single remote. Heres the ebay listing im...

    New Dish Install, whats included?

I'm not sure what the installers for Dish make, but if its like my counterparts its not peanuts as far as im concerned lol. BUT, that being said i already stopped and got cash for the tech for a tip. I don't do many actual installs anymore, I mainly do escalations, chronic trouble calls...

    New Dish Install, whats included?

I get Comcast for free, so I'll still have the HDDVRs on most the tvs, and regular digital boxes on the remaining but I just like some of the HD programming on dish that Comcast doesnt carry along with the Sirius music channels. I also like the expandability of the DVRs for more storage. So...

    New Dish Install, whats included?

Yeah, I took that into consideration but the techs around here are pretty much always corporate. Also, I will have all the jacks/lines for the recieves and TV2 ran before hand aside from the lines from the housebox to the dishes themself which the tech is more then welcome to use for the...

Thanks for the tip on the diplexers causing signal loss - i'm used to a 2way splitter causing a 3.5db loss in the cable world but didnt even take that into consideration for the OTA antenna. I will try to confirm that wind dish working off of the in port on the 1000.4 setup, as it will...

    New Dish Install, whats included?

Good evening! I'm having dish installed at my new house on thurs, and I'm wondering what dish will/won't include with the install as far as parts go. I'm getting a 1000.4 dish (eastern Arc, twincities, mn 55448) plus I'd like a aux dish at 117.5 (I already have a few extra dishs and LNBs)...

    Combine TV2 with CATV

As long as the splitters are hooked up correctly you will be fine, just make sure the single port is facing your TV and the side with 2 ports are where the inputs from the comcast feed and dishnet feed go. I know it sounds simple, but you'd be amazed at some of the stuff I've seen...

Why a $40 Fee to Enable External HD???

It WASN'T in the software though until they took time to develop, test, and implement it. Why have a HD reciever if you don't have a hdtv? possibly for dolby digital, but other then that there wouldn't be a reason. It cost dish more for HD boxes, why give you one if you dont even use the HD...
