Direct TV Last year for Sunday Ticket?

Yes, given the possible options now available to the NFL for distributing its product they'd be crazy not to look at any and all offers. Plus, while sat TV is not going away tomorrow it is on its last legs and the NFL sees that as well. I could easily see Amazon picking up Ticket and offering...

    Direct dropped channel...

All that's required for CSNBA or NBCSBA as it's known today, is Choice. I'm not sure what that rep is telling you as even to go up to the next package is not a $70 jump. Are you sure they didn't mean $7?

AT&T Wants To Move To A Software Centric System?

AT&T says all sorts of things, especially to investors, so while I'm sure they'll probably have their trial at the end of the year I wouldn't expect to see any sort of appreciable adoption rate of the service for years, if ever. In fact, AT&T will have likely have moved on to some other...

    Regional Sports Fee

Have you actually seen Giants games in Sacramento? To do so would mean you're also getting NBC Sports Bay Area in addition to NBC Sports California. 49ers games are on broadcast networks.

Options for adding an external HDD to my HR24-500 receiver

That could be. Although, I think I've read on that other forum that a member has put 3 TBs in some of his HR24's. I'll have to llok around over there and see if I can find the posts to verify. As far as eSATA versus internal, it could be that the software/firmware will limit an eSATA connection...

Options for adding an external HDD to my HR24-500 receiver

It would probably be against the terms of service but you could pop it open and replace the internal drive with the 3 TB.

I work in retentions for DirecTV.. ask me anything you want to know

It might too late, but you should be aware that all Comcast channels other than local broadcast stations are sent via 720p/60. When they did their conversion from MPEG2 to MPEG4 they also down-rezzed all the 1080i channels to 720p.

Directv Now dropping support for Safari, Chrome exclusive in July.

True. Maybe it has something to do with browser capabilities, HTML5 vs Silverlight, or they simply want to slim down the support load to just one browser. I read an article the other day that said that AT&T had not anticipated such a rapid uptake of the service and that they were not really...

Directv Now dropping support for Safari, Chrome exclusive in July.

Maybe it has something to do with Apple's 30% cut of apps on iOS devices? It does seem as if we're missing some critical information as to why Safari has been axed.

What's the cheapest package which includes NBCSN, FS1, FS2, ESPN and ESPN2?

Well, then that certainly illustrates the OP's comment about the DirecTV website being useless. Neither Choice nor Entertainment have FS2 on the page/chart I'm looking at.

What's the cheapest package which includes NBCSN, FS1, FS2, ESPN and ESPN2?

If you can do without FS2 the Choice package has the rest of the channels you want, otherwise you'll need to get Extra to include FS2. The price is different depending on whether you're a current customer or not. Choice is $79 per mo if you're a current sub, Xtra is $88 per mo. For a new sub...

Can I make the remote control faster?

It's very likely the STB and not the remote. I have an HR44 DVR and while it's fast it can't hold a candle to the TiVo Roamio Pro I use with Comcast cable. In my experience, DirecTV STBs have always been on the sluggish side and there's not really a lot that can be done about it.

    service call cost increase

What others? You mean Dish? Also, it's new to me as I've been putting my account on suspension for around 5 years and have never paid any monthly suspension fee.

    service call cost increase

That $5 per month is pure BS. Typical AT&T nickel and diming their customers as they've always done, creating revenue with zero effort on their part.

DirecTV admits to incorrect billing for RSNs

But what does the addition of the first receiver fee have to do with anything? It sounds like you're not happy with them breaking out the RSN fee as a below the line charge. I do agree that below the line charges are sometimes straight up BS but in most cases like this, they do that so the...

But you had said above that there were no RSN fees, which I believe has been the point you've been trying to make here and as it turns out you're paying them with your new service as well.

DirecTV admits to incorrect billing for RSNs

Correct, the blackout rules are set by the league. And DirecTV adheres to those rules by blacking out the games, the channel itself doesn't black them out as it would be blacked out nationally.

I'll give you an example that proves you wrong. I'm in the SF bay area and my local RSNs are CSNBA and CSNCA, Giants and Warriors on CSNBA and A's and Kings on CSNCA. DirecTV admits to incorrect billing for RSNs

My recollection is that the Sports Pack will get you all those RSNs but the only live sports you'll see are college games that are not specifically contracted to another dedicated channel, like to ABC/Fox etc. for example. The only way you'll see pro games on those Sports Pack RSN channels is if...
