Can I make the remote control faster?

A new Directtv box was installed and the new remote that came with it dosen't turn the channels as fast as the older one which was returned.Can I make the remote control faster?

It's very likely the STB and not the remote. I have an HR44 DVR and while it's fast it can't hold a candle to the TiVo Roamio Pro I use with Comcast cable. In my experience, DirecTV STBs have always been on the sluggish side and there's not really a lot that can be done about it.
