Turns out, turning off the banner resolves the issue, at least for now... Menu, 8, 1, set Banner: to Off, then Save, you can access the guide again.

I'm guessing something changed in the guide data, probably by accident, but ongoing. When you hit the guide button on the remote, or try to access the guide via menus, the ViP 722K is rebooting. DISH says they're aware of the issue and engineers are reviewing... no ETR. My workaround, at...

I've been with DISH since 1998... never gotten... nor requested... a discount on programming. Every time I consider changing, I look around at the options, and they're all more expensive.

To me, it seems so - DISH went to the FCC and requested an emergency meeting. The Commission gave both sides 'til midnight to give their side of the story and there was to be a meeting with the Commission staff tomorrow... sure looks like Sinclair really didn't want to go to that meeting.

Incidentally, WGXA (both their Fox 24 and ABC 16 signals) is back on... guide still shows removed, though.

I'm the same way. I even record shows, watch something else for a bit 'til I know I won't "catch up", then watch the show I recorded, skipping commercials and ending just after the scheduled time for the show to end.

I've never been a fan of TWC... nor its forecasts. I use weather.gov. And the GR Level * suite of products for radar data, with an Allison House data feed, Iowa State as a backup. Then there are the direct observations of SKYWARN spotters when the weather isn't great... I feel like I'm covered.

If I cared enough to pay the activation fee, I would. But we've watched everything that's on the system - I only keep 'em around for backup in case there's absolutely nothing on.

Was there a software update that's buggy? I used to, but I don't keep up with software versions anymore.
