“THURSDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL” GAMES OFFERED IN 4K ON FOX

I don't think the quantity of 4K production trucks is the issue. Just one company, Game Creek, appears to have enough mobile 4K production facilities to do the job. If some of Game Creek facilities are on other assignments there are additional companies such as PMTV, TV Technology, Mobile TV...

    VPN question

And to add to your message regarding routers with faster processors it is important to note that the best performance will be achieved with routers containing processors that support Hardware Accelerated Cryptography. The link below is a short article describing this type of acceleration. The...

    VPN question

What works best regarding the use of VPN directly on the device or a router is dependent on a number of factors. Other than network congestion and server selection, a couple of the most overlooked items that impact overall VPN performance is the processing power of the device on which the VPN is...

    VPN question

While you did not specifically describe the components that make up your network, your use of VPN with services like Netflix and Amazon Prime can be problematic. If you are using a Fire TV, Nvidia Shield TV or a similar streaming device, you may be better off using Policy Based Routing so that...

Check the firmware watcher to determine which build is in the stream prior to downloading. DirecTV Firmware Watcher

I don't have any pictures, but you have to wait until the new software is in the stream. The firmware watcher is usually the best tool to determine that, but unfortunately it has been down for the last few days. The new software has been in the stream between 3 am and 7 am eastern time on weekdays.

New Guide UI now rolling out (plus HDR support!)

I forced a download of 0x1001 this morning and found it to be more responsive than 0x0FFC. Some of the logos are using very small fonts (I have a 65” television and 20/15 vision) between Channels 535 and 554. The small font issue is sporadic above this point. I have not experienced any missing...

New Guide UI now rolling out (plus HDR support!)

I noticed 0x1000 in the stream Wednesday morning for the HR54-200, and HS17-100. It was in the stream between 3am and 7am ET Thursday and Friday, for all versions of the HR44, HR54, and HS17. I was tempted to force a download but decided against it.

The Information section, Server Software, of my HR54 correctly displays that the receiver was upgraded (forced upgrade) to 0xffc on December 1st. It also displays that a software upgrade has not been scheduled, and the Status line displays 0xd80, Service 2, Thu 9/14. Does the Status line reflect...

It appears the firmware tracker may be back online. On a whim I forced a software update this morning on my HR54 and ended up with 0xffc. So far absolutely no issues.
