Lifetime Gets Backup in EchoStar Spat

Thanks Tom! CP, actually- (keeping in mind I could be seeing it differently through gender bias of my own) to me I think the slant is more of a "E* no likey Women" than "Men no likey women" on the (horribly written) statement and I'm totally with ya on the forced bundling issue even as...

Lifetime Gets Backup in EchoStar Spat

While I think it's a mistake for advocacy groups to get involved and I find the message disingenuous at best I don't see the "Men Bad" message either (with the exception of a lot of the programming Lifetime Networks run in general). And I personally think it isn't a good network. I don't like...

President Of Dish Spoke The Truth

What I said- and Some responses: Wow... *** M Sparks, they play hand in hand as far as resolution/bitrate go. The higher the resolution, yep, the more backing data you need to keep the image integrity intact so it doesn't become too brittle and literally fall apart (especially with...

President Of Dish Spoke The Truth

To answer your question about change a bit, there are many females that are aware of audio/video quality, but to a great extent they have been marginalized. For things to change, the first step is (and many people ignore this), is to include your SO or wife in your purchasing research...

That assumption would be incorrect (and it's genders that are different, not species).

Freezing on HDNet Movies? Anyone else?

Yep. And a lot of audio dropouts. Actually besides the Voom and the rest of the HD channels being wonky lately, I'm also having a problem with SD freezing periodically too.

    SatelliteGuys Music Video!

Yes, they do have "legs", but can any of them run an E* "checkswitch" procedure if the multi-dish table gets corrupted? :D Note to self- wear fishnets at AFM expo

If you are currently experiencing problems with the 110 satellites...

Wish I'd read this last night too. The weird thing (since 61.5 has been mentioned) is that a couple of times last night when tuning to Voom channels (within the same block) is that I'd get the 110 error message for a couple of seconds before getting the signal from 61.5.

    Who Still Gets TRIO?

I wish I still had it (it was carried on Comcast and SureWest cable). Terrible logo bug, but great programming.

Sacramento, CA - looking for cheap car, mine stolen.

It's looking pretty good so far. Some new scratches, some ink stains and writing we can't get out of the vinyl and we lost some things in it. He (the thief) was starting work on replacing the horrible stock stereo so the AC vent on my side is messed up and there's a gas smell from some oily/gas...

Anyone Receiving Voom On The West Coast??

Sacramento, CA. With the amount of trees by us the original Voom installer was suprised to get it working (it took a lot playing around with dish placement originally, and that's how we ended up with it on the radio antenna pole on the roof). With two dishes now they are right on top of each...

Anyone Receiving Voom On The West Coast??

Yep, just moved to E* today. They didn't give the installer the right info for the work order and just had one dish but luckily he's right by here so he grabbed another one. The installer couldn't use the Voom 24" dish so now I have two (edit) Dish 500's mounted on an old ham radio antenna...

Who's staying up until Zero hour tonight?

I'll be sitting out the end (sleepy, had a bad day), but pulling the coax just in case in a couple of hours so if OTA still works I can use that until the E* install next week.

Any Voomers from Sacramento, CA ?

Hi everyone! I've got a completely off-topic post over here http://www.satelliteguys.us/showthread.php?t=66264 and a heads-up to those in the Arden Arcade area. Several people on our street have gotten their cars broken into the last few days (and mine was stolen early this morning). ***...

Sacramento, CA - looking for cheap car, mine stolen.

Okay- probably kind of lame to post this here, but.... My car's gone missing. So... anyone in the Sacramento area have a cheap car for sale or know someone who does? If so, perferably automatic 'cause my husband doesn't drive stick. Man, this kind of sucks. But if someone could help us out...

Cuban and Voom -- Why Cuban is happy to see Voom go bye-bye?

Weird- I was just talking about that (yesterday) with someone, but since I was a kid at the time we had I was remembering it as the "Q" channel.

How is VOOM going to uninstall 46,000 people in one month?

A csr told me they would be deploying an army of T-600 deinstall units to do the removals (replacing the older ED209 deinstall units which were prone to breakdowns and had problems with ladder navigation).
