So who is lying, E* or local Salisbury networks?

Actually I am covered under the 2 markets. I live in Dover and that is considered to be in the Philadelphia DMA, yet Salisbury has been able to block me with getting out of market stations when I tried a few years ago. Not sure of the specifics, but when I applied for waivers, that is who...

So who is lying, E* or local Salisbury networks?

I just found this thread. I live in Delaware and at the moment have both FIOS and Direct TV (I have had Dish in the past). I have seen the adds on WBOC and have really been annoyed by a couple of things. First, I live in both the Philadelpia and Salisbury DMA. When they say I can't get ABC...

Dish to Direct - Pros and Cons Plz Help

I switched from Dish a year ago when they dropped MLB. I have been happy with Direct. I liked the Dish equipment and interface a little better, but have not had any problems with Direct's equipment. I like the dual feeds on MLB that is being offered this year on Direct. I miss the...

    Is DTV Customer Service Outsourced?

I had Dish and was very unhappy with the call centers in India. Very hard to communicate and lots of dropped calls. I have had much better experience with Direct's customer service. I have never had a problem understanding any of the customer reps and they understand me.

    Chiller from Sleuth

It would be a good station for E* to pick up. I have been watching it quite a bit. I love the old American Gothic and Twin Peaks series they have been showing.

    Thinking about switching

Jimbo, I have never used a TIVO, so I can't really say how the 622 compares to it. I imagine E* is trying to not be too much like TIVO as they have been fighting with them in the courts on patents.

    Thinking about switching

Of course you can get all channels, but I am only interested in the ones that I actually subscribe to. I found the 622 worked better in displaying this. Caller ID may work for you, but I found it doesn't work all the time for me. I see others are having problems, so it is a bug. I did not...

    Thinking about switching

I switched from E* to D* a few months ago. I had the VIP622. I now have the HR20. I prefered the VIP622, but he HR20 isn't bad. I understand that there have been some glitches. I had to do a reset on mine once which isn't bad. The caller ID doesn't work all the time and the "All Channels...

INDEMAND will carry MLB EI? No so fast says MLB... How about E*?

I watched the Red Sox play today and it was NESN in HD. I wasn't able to do that with E*. I had E* for the past 8 years, but in January when I found out I was going to be charged $14 more a month and it was likely E* wouldn't have MLB EI, I decided it was time to make a change. It was a tough...

New customer but need to cancel DirecTV

I signed up for D* back in January and was told at that time I would have 30 days as a trial period and could cancel without penalty within those 30 days. I have been happy with D* so I didn't have to try out the 30 day escape clause.

    Dish price going up

I may not have as many HD channels, but most of the Voom ones I rarely watched. I get more of my locals in HD on D* than E* offered and I watch those more than the Voom channels. D* will be adding more HD this year. D* is the better value for me. It was hard for me to make the switch, but I...

    Dish price going up

This last increase was very big. My bill was going up $14. I don't mind a few dollars, but this was too much. I switched to D* after having E* for 8 years. I am getting some discounts from D*, but even after that ends, it will still be cheaper than E*. It was not an easy choice to make, but...

DirectTV or Dish Network for HD

I found Dish to have a better HD DVR. Direct's has been improving, but I prefer Dish's.

DirectTV or Dish Network for HD

I had E* and had to have 2 dishes to get HD. I had E* for 8 years and was genuinely happy with them. When I found out my bill was going to be increased $14 per month and there was a good chance I wouldn't be able to get MLB EI, I decided to make a switch. It was a tough decision to make. I...

Cable and DirectV Service to the same house

That is ridiculous. I must be breaking the law then, because I have both. Many have both just to get locals on cable and then satellite for the rest. I would ask Comcast to tell you what law is being broken. It sounds like you spoke with a clueless CSR.

I've had Sun Rocket for almost a year. No problems.

    Comcast to Directv ????

The sports channels are in the expanded package and not included in the basic channels. I find for baseball, some of the Philly games are on 57 and that is carried by satellite and most of the Baltimore games are on Comcast Sports Net that is carried by satellite. I don't miss too many of the...

    Comcast to Directv ????

You would have to have separate wiring if you have both cable and satellite. Comcast does have the Philly sports and they don't share with satellite. If your teams are playing the Philly teams, the out of market package will block these out. It is the same with the Baltimore teams. I like...

    Comcast to Directv ????

I also live in Dover, Delaware. I just switched from Dish to Direct so I could be sure I can get MLB. I follow the Red Sox. I also have Comcast for the basic channels so I can get the Salisbury locals. With Direct you can only get the Philadelphia channels. You may want to consider the...

    FCC investigating MLB Deal

I hope the FCC will also look at the exclusivity that some cable companies have with the local teams, like Philadelphia and San Diego.

DISH Cries Foul Over DIRECTV/MLB Deal

This is just a poor move. It would be one thing if Charlie didn't want to pay for MLB but to have an arrangement that makes it exlusive just isn't right. The anger should be directed at MLB for allowing this deal to happen. D* saw an opportunity to do something that it thinks will help them...

Called And Complained About Price Increase! Great Results!!

I can't believe the size of the price increase. My bill was going up $14. I was planning on downgrading. I then learned that MLB is going exclusively to D*. I decided it was time for me to switch. D* was offering all kinds of incentives so it was worth it for me to make the switch. Even...

    Who has most channels?

I have had Dish for 8 years. I just switched to Direct this past week. My impressions are as follows: I like the VIP 622 better than the HR20 - 700. I have had to do a reboot already on the HR20, never had to do this on the 622 in the 9 months I had it. The 622 also has a 30 second skip...

Next installation date available... April 11

That is interesting. I am a new customer, I just switched from Dish. I called last Wednesday and they said they could have someone here that Friday. I actually scheduled for Saturday. No wait at all. I got a HD DVR and a regular HD receiver.

    Today's the day!

I just got D* today, also. I was pleasantly surprised with the installer. Usually the ones contracted through both E* and D* have not been good in the area that I live. My last episode with the E* installer was horrible. I had to pay someone to come in and fix what he did. There was no way...
