    DirecTV Triplexer?

    Well that's a major bummer. :(

    DirecTV Triplexer?

I see. So I'd still need to use diplexers to get both the OTA and D* signals to each TV, correct?

    DirecTV Triplexer?

I have a separate dish and receivers for FTA. I'm just trying to avoid running two sets of cable. But what exactly is an AM21?

    DirecTV Triplexer?

I just ordered DirecTV and after I hit the "Buy" button I thought of some things that I wish I'd have thought of beforehand. First of all, AFTER ordering, I discovered that my local channels are NOT available in HD in my area. However I do have an attic antenna that picks them up just fine. So...

Is this the twilight of FTA?

The internet has certainly beaten down the number of shortwave radio stations out there, but shortwave is far from dead. Many internet-based broadcasters started out on shortwave and continue to broadcast there as a backup to the internet (even though it is MUCH more expensive). Not a bad idea...

    Ohio News Net. move again?

I believe the technical term for what you just described is "economies of scale".

    Ohio News Net. move again?

Kind of makes one wonder how the folks at freedbs.org could make a go of it on satellite when ONN can't. I sure hope they've got a good business plan.

    Ohio News Net. move again?

I sent an email to ONN's director of marketing and his response to me was: "Unfortunately I don’t see us going back on satellite in the near future." But what's interesting is that I later got an email back from the VP/General Manager (who was copied-in on the email): "I’m finding out that...

New FTA service with 20 english channels

I found the phrase "Watch for new satellite coordinates!" VERY interesting.

    Need Help with RTV

That's a great idea except for the fact that I'm too chicken to walk on my roof! It's very steep. That's why I had a professional install it a couple of years ago. Yes I did actually use the DiSEqC mode to tweak the dish. As of this morning RTV was coming in okay but with a few pixels here...

    Need Help with RTV

Yes there were a few others (like ABC News Now and ABSAT) that are usually strong but were not coming in at all or were very weak. This morning however RTV and Tuff TV both seem to be coming in okay with only slight pixelation. So I'm thinking this was just weather related.

    Need Help with RTV

You may be right Bill. I noticed that ABC News Now is off the air and they're at 89 degrees (although I have no idea where their uplink is).

    Need Help with RTV

Well that's interesting. On my end I've got a very weak signal on all three channels (SQ of 27) and none are viewable. But of the three, NBC seems to be coming in the best.

    Need Help with RTV

This dish is 36 inches and is motorized (mounted on the roof). I've tweaked the position as best I could but it's still not viewable (although at least now I'm getting some choppy audio). As far as I can tell the dish has an unobstructed view to the horizon.

    Need Help with RTV

Does anyone else out there have a hard time pulling in RTV? The transponder was just strong enough for my receiver (Mercury II) to find it and add it to channel list but it's so weak all I ever see is a couple of pixels. Ditto for Tuff TV. Does the fact that I'm in Connecticut have anything to...

    Ohio News Net. move again?

Dang it. I was hoping to order some that all natural peanut butter that ONN showcased about a week ago. Does anybody remember the name of the company that made it? This is what happens when you procrastinate.

    Where'd ONN Go?

Thanks Anole. Guess I should have looked before leaping!

    Where'd ONN Go?

Does anyone know where ONN went? It used to be on Horizons 2 (74 deg. W) but now it's MIA. When I do a power scan I get a hit on one transponder (12058/V/27719) however there are no channels showing up on it. Thanks, Chris

    Galaxy 25 Drift?

i4tas, It appears you are correct. Some transponders on G19 are strongest on 97.0 while others are strongest on 97.6 (at least on my system). That's very odd given the fact that they're all riding on the same satellite.
  22. C

    Galaxy 25 Drift?

Yeah it looks like Galaxy 25 is now Galaxy 19. Sorry about that. I tried going to zero and then back to 97 degree but same deal. Maybe a tooth broke off of the gear right over G19. I'm a chronic satellite surfer so maybe I'm just wearing the darn thing out! ;)

    Galaxy 25 Drift?

I've recently had to change Galaxy 25's position from 97.0 to 97.6 in order to get a respectable signal. At first I thought that perhaps the wind knocked my dish out of alignment however all the other satellites that I'm hitting did not require an adjustment. Does anyone have an explanation as...
