You don't have East Bay Hills between you and Sutro tower. I'm right next to Mt. Diablo on the North side ( Concord, near corner of Ygnacio Valley Road and Clayton road). I don't think it is possible to get anything from here.

I got 0 local channels I got supposetly better antenna, but still not a single local channel from SF, installer called Voom, they re-mapped me to SAC locals and he repositioned the antenna - same result - 0 locals from Sacramento. I basically gave up on getting locals. My only option is to...

I just spoke with VOOM CSR, they are aware of the audio problem and working on resolving it. He advised me to switch to regular TNT (506) until problem is resolved.

I see it on all channels and only on DVI input, so I think is got to do with DVI cable. I wonder if anyone knows about difference between Dual-link and Single-link DVI cables, can I use either one with VOOM?

I don't get any OTA channels yet, hopefully SquareShooter will fix it this Friday. My DVI cable is about 2.5 meters - standard VOOM cable that came with the box. I ordered a new DVI cable from eBay store that someone recommended here as being better than Monster it should arrive within next 3-4...

I have a silly question: When I view dark shots on any HD channels I see barely visible 'snow', if the shot is darker then 'snow' becomes more visible and annoying. Any ideas on how to get rid of this?

By the way - VOOM and Installs Inc. approved me for SquareShooter and they will install it next Friday at their expense. I will let you know if it improves OTA reception. I was almost ready to pay for Squareshooter and it's install out of my own packet... :)

Thank you for all replies, I was able to improve picture with manual convergence . Auto convergence did not help much, as right side of the screen was sharper then the left side regardless of the connection ( DVI or Component). I wonder if plasma HD screens have this type of problems, or they...

Prelimenary results of the pool I see that over 60 people voted in this pool so far and main surprise for me from these preliminary results is the fact that over half of VOOM subscribers apparently not happy with their OTA reception. Hope someone from VOOM reads this forum.

I'm familiar with that legislation, but it only applies to the areas that are exclusively used by resident, such us patio or balcony. Roof is property of HO assotiation and this FCC regulitions unfortunately does not apply here.

When I was on the phone with VOOM CSR yeasterday he told me that they get many requests to carry local channels on satellite. He said that company is aware of that , but did not speculate any further on what they might decide.

Thank you for this information. Unfortunately bigger, eaglier antenna is not an option for me because of HOA regulations. I'm currently trying to get VOOM to pay for Sguareshooter antenna and it's installation - I will let you know if they agree to it and if it will make any difference.

I agree with - 6-7 network feeds will be fine.

In many areas there are no local chanells available OTA. I'm currently unable to see any OTA channels in Concord/ East Bay/San Francisco Bay Area. Would you like to local channels brodcast from satellite when VOOM has enough available bandwich?
