Last Years Promises If they are having contract issues with HD locals, then tell us so we the customer can put some pressure on the local stations. If we were informed about why they didn't get last years HD local list done, it sure would temper any hard feelings customers might have...

How about the local HD cities they promised last year. They haven't completed that list, so what are the chances they will complete this one? All Big talk and no action..... How about completing last years list of promises, before making new ones.

I live in Buffalo, NY. All the network stations, NBC, CBS, Fox, CW, and PBS all broadcast a digital signal. The local stations themselves don't broadcast local programing, like the news, in HD, but all the network HD is being broadcasted in HD. I had to get an OTA antenna to get my local HD...

It's probably for the receivers they have out there that they are testing. "Beta Testers". I hope they get all the bugs out before they release it to the masses. It would be refreshing to get a new receiver that is relatively bug free.

They haven't even finished last years promised launches. I would guess that is why they won't promise anything anymore.

Weather Channel Raining Money On HDTV The channel is spending "tens of millions" on fall high-def launch. That's according to an article in Broadcasting & Cable magazine.

Here in Buffalo, NY, The local cable company, Time Warner, has already taken off the NFL network and is now threatening to remove the local Fox and MyTV stations for the same reason. Dish is not the only provider getting fed up with the programers demands.

Local Weather... "What's That" Called Dish Network's customer service, talked to 3 technical customer service reps and none of them knew anything about the new Weather Channel - Local weather service. They kept sending me to channel 100 and Accuweather. :confused:

Oh Boy! Now they are turning off locals no matter if you are legal or not. :confused: I live in Buffalo, NY and they turn off my local locals this morning. I had to call Dish up to find out what was going on. Needless to say, within 5 minutes they were back on but my KTLA super station...

The OTA tuners on Dish HD receivers are not as reliable and the ones being put in the HDTVs. If you have an OTA antenna, use a splitter to feed both the tv and the Dish receiver. You will find that when the TV receiver, once you set it up, will get a more reliable picture and less sound drop outs.

My OTA signals drop went down too.

I have to tell you this. The HD Dish Receivers DO NOT have very good OTA receivers. If you have an HDTV with a OTA tuner use a 2 way splitter to feed both the Dish receiver and the HDTV with the OTA signal. I have done this on more than one tv. The Dish Receiver will show no signal while the...
