    Picture Quality of D*?

I will assume that Best Buy most likely installed some kind of gadjet to split the signal into two, one HD and one SD and it is some cheep thing that made the picure look like that. But I am still sceptical to move to D* now and most likely will wait until they provide all 100 channels that they...

    Picture Quality of D*?

I was at Best Buy the other day at the D* booth where they have 2 identical HDTV's showing NFL game on FOX, one HD and the other SD. The HD seemed to me had too much pixilation especially on fast moving objects. Currently I have Comcast and OTA in Chicago and FOX HD looks much better than what I...

    XM Quality

I just found this thread today and I'd like to comment; as 2 year XM subscriber I can say that sound quality was close to CD quality 2 years ago but ever since they added bunch of crap talk and sports channels the sound quality is way down. Thay are using heavy compression and why do they care...

    CHICAGO METRO AREA VOOM

I had my signal interrupted during the storm, almost everytime there is a storm I lose the signal, but I found out that if I lose the signal and stay on the same channel the signal takes longer to come back but if I change the channel then there is a faster response. I also use a large OTA...

    VOOM Installations

I got Voom installed today and the whole thing went so smooth, the installer came on time and it took less than 2 hours to install everything up and running except the OTA antenna. I have Pioneer PDP-1110HD which comes with digital tuner and I decided to but the antenna and install it myself...

    Voom and HDMI

Question to The STone Man: I also have Pioneer Media Receiver with HDMI, how are you connecting the digital audio? can you mix it with the DVI into the HDMI or you connect it to the AV receiver?

    VOOM Installations

I don't have my STB yet but I'm planning to use DVI to HDMI cable to stay completely digital

    VOOM Installations

Yes but I was planning to input video AND audio to my media receiver and switch inputs from within the media receiver, this way I get short digital video path and the digital audio will pass throught to the digital aidio out of the media receiver (including Dolby Digital signal).

    VOOM Installations

I just ordered Voom and I thought I'd share my experience. I went ahead and bought OTA antenna (Wineguard) and got ALL my local channels (Chicago). I have Pioneer Elite PRO-1110HD plasma with HDMI inputs, and when I asked Voom if their STB is compatible they said yes, but then I asked if the box...
