When setting or checking signal strength, is there a prefered TP to use? My last call to E* said my reference TP was 17. I've never heard that used here. If you were to ask me what my signalis on 129, I could tell you 60 or 83. Just trying to finger this out. Thanks.:)

Can only assume this is a bug, but, since the 365 download the audio sometimes sounds distorted. Like a quick stutter/fast garble. This isn't channel specific, just happens at random.

Sorry guys, didn't mean to start anything. Just figured if the best the installer can do is eyeball it, I can do that one afternoon myself and then I can't complain. :shh

Kinda thought that myself. I'll see if it gets any better on Mon. Installer's gonna come and realign my dish.

What do you use to detect/align the sat signals?

I just called my local installer (so he calls himself) and when it rains, everybody loses sat he says. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with him to do any service calls for 90 days, unless I want to pay for the call. Gonna try and get him out to realign my dish again.:haha

Just got off the phone with tech support about my signal strength on 129. Was told that my home transponder, #17, had low signal strength of 68. Rain fade inevitable. Asked about the two dish setup and was told that I should leave 129 on the dish 1000 and move 110/119 to a dish 500. Make...

Yea, my locals are on 129. Any ideas/recommendations for hardware? With everyone saying that 129 is "about to fall out of the sky", I'm curious as to what kind of improvement a single dish might provide. Sorry if the questions are rather vague, just don't know of another way to ask.

I use Sunrocket and caller id works fine. Using standard phone jacks though.:up

Thanks for the reply and you answer was what I expected...really. I'm trying to decide if adding another dish for 129 sat (I have a dish 1000) is worth the effort. If I do, I'm considering changing out all my cable runs (cables are about 9 yrs old), so I'm wanting to get the best possible signal.

I was wondering if my signal strength is in the norm. I have a 622 with the dish 1000. On a cloudy/rainy day 110=62, 119-93, 129=55. These are from today, clouds and rain. As soon as it starts to rain, HD starts going south. On cear days my signal strebghths are in the high 90's IIRC. Just...

Just wondering about how far the cutoff is to receive OTA HD channels. Just switched to Dish and HD. Is the signal any different in terms of strength than regular SD OTA? Be kind, I'm hew at this. TIA.:)
