I'm seeing terrible HD video performance today. One "frame" every 1 to 3 seconds... happening on all my HD channels. In Santa Fe, NM using a 722 receiver with an OK signal strength. Check Switch didn't change this behavior.

I sent the message, but haven't heard any response from Dish. Do they normally respond to messages sent to dishquality@echostar.com? It would be nice to know that KOB/Dish are aware of the yellow screen dropouts, and that they are working on a solution...

So, does that mean the yellow screen was (is) not due to the weak signals from the old satellite? Must be a problem with KOB's link to Dish? Now that the new sat is working, I hope KOB will work the yellow screen problem, assuming they are aware of it...

Yes! This is great. My signal strength went from 24 to 78! Hopefully, this means fewer dropouts during stormy weather.

Yes, yes, yes! I *hate* the Dish Network goulash of packages, "special deals", fees, etc.. It is almost impossible to know what programming package to subscribe to. In my case, I see a list of packages and add-ons on my online report, but the monthly bill has a different nomenclature that...

CNN-HD seems to be worse than other channels (at least on dish network). Late at night, I'll be watching CNN and then they cut to a commercial and BOOM! everyone in the house wakes up.

OK, so Dish techs arrived yesterday around 4:30pm and swapped out my 622 with a 722. I haven't had a chance to test. It may be a few days before I'm confident the problem is resolved. More later...

The 622 still freezes. My recording of SNL this weekend is unwatchable due to this problem. I called Dish support back and supposedly a tech is coming today from 12pm-5pm with a replacement receiver. However, it is now 4:30pm, and so far no techs...

Dish techs showed up today and re-pointed the dish. They could only get the signal for 129 transponder 18 up to around 23-24. Hopefully, this is enough and it fixes the freeze problem. I should know if it worked later tonight.

Thanks. I just spoke with Dish Network tech support. My 129 signal strength is bouncing from green to yellow at around 17-18 signal strength. They are sending someone over to try to re-point the dish and improve the signal. Hopefully, this will fix it.

Content trumps presentation, almost every time. I certainly would rather see original aspect ratio full HD than SD. However, I don't worship the HD gods to the extent that I'd rather tune to a sunrise with glacier melting in glorious HD verses my local news in fuzzy SD.

For me, it won't take much to replace MonstersHD because it had been showing programming that isn't interesting to me; and again the same three movies ALL DAY LONG! Dumb. Occasionally, I might find something on Monsters that I like, but, lately their line-up has been lame. I already like MGM...
