a wild guess. you say it was installed on the roof. this time of year roofs get hot and cold expansion and contraction.can cause the dish to move around enough to make weaker reception below threshold.

Save your money for a polarity motor about 20.00 . check your 3 wires at the feedhorn at the dish. if you could borrow a receiver to check you should be able to hear the motor switch polarity or look inside the feed and see if it moves 90degrees

thank you think the select button would be the one that is required to say no to the shut down. i will try to pay more attention to the message and see if i have to hit left arrow then the select button to stop it . Anyone please reply if you have more suggestions? or solutions
