help on dish 500 installation. TRANSPONDERS?! ARG!

Try this, check your elevation. If you are getting the 110 sat when you do a check switch( i didnt read all the post so I'm just guessing here) Then your elevation (up and down) on the dish is to high. I've helped many techs than lock on the 110 perfectly, but get nothing on the 119, drop...

signal stregnth going up and down

If the tree limbs are directly above your dish, and hanging over, you will be good if you cut them directly even with the top of the dish, just keep them trimed to that point and you shouldnt have any problems, that is if the tree limbs are causing the problem in the first place. Is your dish...

    105 interference

I have heard about the mesh wiring before, but I've never tried it. As for removing locals from customers untill they become more stable isn't an option, and Dish is not going to tell customers that "the problem is in our equipment, not your install" so I guess we're stuck with sending techs...

    loss signal?

Ah yes, that could be the case. Easy way to tell, if ya can, climb up to your dish, look at the front of the LNB on a little plate in the center there will be a serial number, or model number. If it starts with CCS, you have a defective twin, if it starts with BS or PNI (i think thats the...

    Need help with Dishnet

I would recommend not using a DTV dish to get Dishnetwork, it can be done, if using older equipment, but you will not be able to get all the programming a D500 can provide. As far as the settings, just goto the menu 6,1,1 and put in your zip code, it will give you the settings.

    105 interference

Well All I know is we are having 20 trouble calls a day in the Chattanooga area that johntenn is talking about, and it seems each one is having to do with the 105 lnb. All my techs are saying the LNB is bad, they replace them, works for 2 days, then there is another TC with the same problem...

    loss signal?

Could be the receiver, 522's can be buggy, could be just a glitch. You'll know more if it happens again. Just try to remember; does it happen always at the same time in the day (mornings, afternoon, late knight?) or just intermittent? Does it happen on both tv's or just one? Numerous...

    2nd dish installation questions

If you only have 2 receivers, and added a Must Carry, then the tech should have used 1 Leg Twin, 1 Leg Dual, 2 Leg 21 switches and cascaded, or DP if you have DP receivers, so ya, you got lucky if he just used a 64 switch, just make sures its out of the weather, the 64 has a bad habit of dying...

Reasons why you should NOT get a 522.

Just a bit of back up info on Dish and echo products: I've been working with Dish for going on 5 years now, and I've seen every receiver from the 1000 to the 721. The worst probaly being the 7000 model, which, for those of you unfamiler, is one of the first pvr receivers, but add web tv to...

    My tech. looks puzzled!!!

Sounds like he is trying to use a turk antenna for your local channel, and is going to diplex them into the lines, which is pretty simple, assuming he doesnt get consused by which line he diplexed from the outside to the inside. But his wire configuration sounds right, the 322 back feeds to...

    DP44 Switch ?

What else is new, we've been promised the dp-44 for over 7 months now, and have to keep rejecting customers that want SD and internationals. Dish always does that, they are in such a hurry to get the newest equipment out, they forget about how it will affect customers, just like DP/Legacy a...

    DP64 Switch

Your system may be in warranty still, considering you have an 811, i'd say your switch is still in warranty, make dish replace it with a DP set up, which should have been used in the first place.

    Dish 500 for just 61.5?

All of the above is right, doesnt really matter what type of receiver you are using, as long as it is a Dish receiver, set the skew at 90. You will have to adjust your elevation and azimuth slightly, due to the D500, and there are 2 'ghost' sat's in the same place as the 61.5, I always seem to...

    2nd dish installation questions

You won't be able to receieve any additional channels for free, though if you are pointing to the 61.5 you could get some HD channels or internation channels, but they are subscription channels. As for the type of switch, it really depends on the type/amount of receivers you have now. If you...
