    does Dish honor network waivers?

Actually, it sounds like I'm a loser. Guess I'll stick with Directv. :( Seems strange though that Directv is allowed to provide something that Dish cannot.

Oops! I made a mistake and watched real HD!

Thanks Hall. Actually I started a new thread asking this question. But a quick response to you... I cannot pull in my local FOX or CBS digital signals (70 miles distance) so these locals granted me waivers. With the waivers Directv gives HD feeds of the New York CBS and FOX affiliates in...

    does Dish honor network waivers?

Seems like I read somewhere in these forums that Dish does not offer distant HD feeds regardless of waivers. With Directv I have waivers for and currently receive CBS and FOX out of New York in HD. I'd ask a CSR but I have no faith in any answer they'd give me. Can anyone shed light on this?

Now that you have HD, how much SD do you watch?

Oops! I made a mistake and watched real HD!

Interesting. I'm a Directv customer thinking about switching to Dish. I was curious though about Dish PQ so when my friend got an HDTV and Dish I went over to his house to see what Dish looked like. The word "soft" is perfect for my impression of the PQ. Not a bad picture, just soft. Softer...

Can a waiver be transfered from Directv to Dish?

Well that all sucks. In that case I guess I'll seriously consider staying with Directv. George, if Dish stops offering DNS will they give us our locals in HD? Does that court order apply to Directv? If not I wonder why.

Can a waiver be transfered from Directv to Dish?

I am a current Directv HD customer. I'm SERIOUSLY thinking about migrating to Dish. I was granted waivers for CBS and FOX so I get those HD stations out of New York. I'm wondering if I make the switch to Dish do I have to go thru all that again or do the waivers apply to either sat service...

Who's got the best SD PQ? dish or directv?

Someone in another thread compared Dish's SD picture quality to old streaming video. Lot's of compression "artifacts". That matches my experience from almost a year ago which prompted me to drop Dish and try Voom after I got a 50" TV. On the bigger screen the blockiness was so much more...

E* full of it when cancelling?

Quote kluken: ----------------------------- Early streaming internet video is starting to look better than E* Digital channels! ----------------------------- That's why I dropped Dish almost a year ago when I got a 50" TV. It was annoying on a small set but on a big screen it was...
