Info needed for Hopper3 and 3 wired Joey Installs

Leaving Spectrum TV service, but keeping Spectrum Internet. We had Dish prior to Spectrum (late 2016 or early 2017) and had essentially the same setup...a Hopper3 and three wired Joeys. I don't remember how Dish was connected, but I need to find out if my cabling arrangement will handle the...

Moving back to Dish, but have a few questions first

Thanks to all who replied to my questions. Now for the most important question: Am I better off ordering online, ordering by phone, or does it make no difference?

Moving back to Dish, but have a few questions first

Thank you very much for the info. I think I can safely say that I'll be ordering Dish in the very near future. If anyone can help me with the azimuth and elevation settings, I'd really appreciate it. I checked dishpointer.com, but am unsure of the satellite locations I need. (110,119,129??) If...

Moving back to Dish, but have a few questions first

I'm not here to bash Direct, but I think it's time to make the change. As I see it, I'll need an H3 and 3 4K Joeys with AT250 package. However, before I switch, I hope someone can please answer a few questions for me: 1. Since changing to a Genie 2, the lag is terrible when changing channels...

HD availability on Extra Innings & Center Ice with Dish??

MLB.tv sounds like it could be the way to go. Only problem might be that when it comes to smart tv, both wife and I aren't very smart. Whatever we do needs to be a quick and easy access without a lot of steps. If I can program it into my Harmony and get it going with one button push, it should...

HD availability on Extra Innings & Center Ice with Dish??

Thanks for the info. If I subscribe to the RSNs, will I be able to watch the games directly on it's broadcast RSN or are there a block of channels mapped out for EI or CI packages? I know...picky, picky, but this is important to me. I tried FIOS a few years ago...lasted less than a weekend...

HD availability on Extra Innings & Center Ice with Dish??

I've been with DirecTV for many years and didn't think I'd ever be going back to Dish, but the ongoing problem list with the Genie 2 has me looking at Dish and the Hopper 3. However, I am concerned about the Extra Innings and Center Ice programming. Is it all in HD like Direct or are some games...

    Tampa HD locals

AFIK, Dish never made any announcement about uplinking Tampa locals in HD. That's what finally drove me to the dark side. Maybe they're waiting for channel 10 to get their act together...which might be awhile. I can almost see the channel 10 tower from my house, but OTA is iffy at best...

    921 Owners Unite

After receiving a call from the "executive office" which gave me all the wrong (no doubt correct...but imho, wrong) answers...this 921, 811, 721, 501 owner/subscriber has had cable installed. Unless something earth-shattering happens with Dish in the next week or so, it's bye-bye after being...

Poll: What are your future television provider plans?

Brighthouse Cable was installed today. I'm keeping Dish for awhile to check out the differences in HD DVRs and general picture quality. So far I'm very impressed. (It's good to live where there is cable competition.) At this point (it always looks good at first), things look very good. Even...

Four HD TVs - Only One 622 Available?

Well, I only have 2 HDTVs, and have been with Dish since about the beginning. I'm not going to cancel my Dish programming in a huge rush, but Brighthouse will be at my house on Friday for an install. After comparing picture and HD-DVR quality, I'll make a decision...but quite frankly at this...

Existing 921/942 Subs: Satisfied with Upgrade Path?

I have two HDTV sets and own an 811 and a 921 (the $1000 version)...but as I understand things, E* only wants to let me upgrade to one leased box. That's just wrong. If I were to upgrade now to receive the new channels...it's a no brainer to upgrade the DVR. Whoops...there are no DVRs available...

    HDTV Resolution Question

Gary Murrell and rthomp03: Thanks for the info, I'm starting to understand resolutions a bit better. The link to the .pdf file was quite informative. I opened up my calculator and noticed that 1280 X 720 (I assume 720p) is the same ratio as 1920 X 1080 (I assume 1080i except for the newer...

    HDTV Resolution Question

After reading the many posts about HD Lite, I found myself agreeing. Then while reading yesterdays BestBuy ad, I noticed that most of the HDTVs that they sell are advertised with resolution in the area of 1280 X 720 (some were marginally higher). Can someone please enlighten me...What (if...

The Positive Spin of the HD Channel delayed

My sentiments exactly...except for the HDTV Broadcast Networks since for some strange reason they are leaving the #12 DMA out of the equation.

Man, am I the only one that feels a little let down ?

I spent over $2K for my HDTV, but I have received about 4 years of trouble-free service from it. Slightly less than two years ago I spent $1K for a "state of the art" MPEG2 HD-DVR...the infamous 921. I think I have a right to complain a bit...and to be just a bit gun-shy.

    Tech question for the experts

I don't know whether right or wrong enters into this...but in my experience, it's not a good practice to try splitting a digital signal. Most likely this is the way to solve your problem...

Low volume using digital out on 942?

Just for the record, I have a 921 and a Yamaha RX-V1. I experience the same problem as you. It's especially offensive when watching OTA network programming in DD, then when it shifts to local commercials......LOUD! I think it must be something in the way Dish receivers handle the DD signal. :(

    921 DVI Questions

I have had the "sync" issue...or whatever it was, but only every once in awhile. It only seemed to happen when I didn't really have time to do a reboot before the program I wanted to watch came on. I had it up to 4 days ago when I finally reconnected the component video connection. I don't know...

    Help! New Aquos

Did you have the 625 hooked up to a different TV previously (using s-video or composite)...and if so, did it work OK with the other TV? Do you have another receiver that you can try connecting to the Aquos to check picture quality? You might also want to try a different set of cables...but since...
