For leased receiver with DHPP, there is no fee to replace. They only charge a small fee if they have to send someone out to do it, but if you are replacing it yourself, it is free. I am not sure about owned receiver though.

My TV2 modulator failed also. It was working fine than one day it just died. They have to send me a replacement 622. Luckily mine is leased and have home protection, so it didn't cost me anything. You could buy your own modulator and connect it to TV2 AV output.

You cannot copy or move HBO or Cinemax programs to archos. :( The only way you can do it is buy the DVR docking station and record the shows in real time.

I am in LA also and got a dedicated 500 pointing to 129, but I am still getting rain fade. Not all 129 channels are gone, just about 1/3 of them. My 129 signals seem to be ranging from 10 to 30 on a sunny day! Should I call Dish to have them out to repoint the dish?

jeffr, 722 does have two, actually three if you includes OTA, HD tuners. You can record 3 HD programs at the same time. It just cannot output HD to TV2.

It won't let you transfer copy protected movies from HBO or maybe other premium channels. You will have to buy the DVR docking station to record it instead if you want to see it on your 605.
