    External Drive

I was able to get my other 622 to recognize the drive once more and unloaded my saved programs there. Can you or anyone else recommend a particular drive that will work reliably with the 622? I appoligize but the drive bug sticky thread is so long.

I guess that must be it. It's USB powered. My bad. I would guess my recordings are likely lost. Thanks.

    External Drive

I purchased a 350GB iomega hard drive to try and save my programs from a dying 622. The problem is the 622 only recognizes the drive intermittently after plugging it in to the USB port. I was able to successfully format the drive and download all my recorded shows once but the next time I tried...

    622 catastrophic failure - advice?

Good question. I felt the same way but it wasn't worth $14 to me to keep arguing with the non-english speaking CSR. It was painful as it was and I just wanted to hang up. I probably should have insisted on no shipping charges though.

    622 catastrophic failure - advice?

Mine started doing the same thing. Breakups and loss of pause capability. When I talked to the CSR she told me my 622 isn't supposed to pause live TV. :haha I had to convice her it was supposed to. They're sending me another one (leased) but I have tp pay shipping. I think it has been running...

    Coax Cable Length

There are so many factors that go into determining if that's a good idea it shouldn't be viewed as a rule set in stone.

    Coax Cable Length

Not sure where you got that idea but it aint so.

RG59 Cable and the 722. Dish says it will burn up!

It's RG6. Coleman is a decent cable manfacturer. Shouldn't be any problem.

RG59 Cable and the 722. Dish says it will burn up!

Nothing's going to burn up. The difference in DC resistance between two 100 foot runs of coax cable, one RG59 the other RG6, is only a couple of Ohms and unlikely to be of any consequence for most installations. The larger issue is the higher frequencies used with DishPro installations. At 2250...

So have all 942 owners that had their Voom taken away been given a 622?

This is the deal they offered me for a second 622. I am upgrading an owned 942 and I already have one leased 622. I think it's different if you are stuck with only the MPEG2 older units.

    622 remote battery

The battery charger is a good idea but I just thought it was strange to need replacement batteries so quickly. The RF transmitter must use alot of power.

    622 remote battery

The TV2 RF remote for my 622 seems to burn through a set of alkaline batteries in just a week or two, regardless of usage. Anyelse experiencing abnormal battery usage on the tv2 remote?

    921 failing

I agree, good second string DVR. I have a leased 622 also and so far I'm told I can't lease a second one. I finally unplugged the 921 because the hard drive was making an intermittent high-pitched squealing noise. After 3 days I plugged it back in and it's working fine again. Used it all...

    How do I lease a second 622?

I'm being told the standard story mentioned here. You can only take advantage of their 'dishn it up' upgrade offer once, which I did, even though I didn't turn in my 921 for the $199. I'm being told I must buy one now for $549. I'll keep trying though, I don't want to buy one.

    921 failing

Did you mean a replacement DVR or HDD. The hard drive in mine is making noise now but I don't think the hard drive itself can be replaced, can it?

    How do I lease a second 622?

Same here. Tried yesterday to lease a second 622 since my 921 appears to dying with no luck . (CSR couldn't speak English). Yaz, how did you end up getting a call from the executive office?

    921 failing

My 921 recently began intermittent halting on playback of recorded shows. The halts last anywhere from 2 to 10 seconds. It's made it nearly useless as a DVR although as a sat and OTA receiver it still functions fine. Neither reboots nor power downs correct the problem. Anyone else experience...

622 did not live up to my expectations

I use both a 921 and a 622 in the same setup and often switch between the two. Both have identical excellent picture quality. I have both units set to 720P over component video.

    Should I upgrade from a 942 to a 622?

I own a 921 and added a leased 622 to the setup rather than give Dish my 921 for $200. My 921 works perfect and was worth more to me as a second/backup receiver/DVR. Now I have twice the record capability and the ability to record multiple OTA-HD chanels and the new MPEG4 channels. Feature...

    system upgrade?

Thanks guys, that's exactly the info I wanted. I was getting some conflicting information from my neighbor who was told otherwise by a CSR from dish when he wanted to upgrade from a 942. It just didn't make sense. He was told he must get the dish 1000 for the upgrade even though he also...

    system upgrade?

Thanks for the reply. Ideally I would like to trade the 811 for a leased 622 so I would have two DVRs. I own my 921, am happy with it and don't really want to trade it in. I just don't know if Dishnetwork will let you mix Mpeg 2 and 4 equipment or is a complete upgrade necessary...

    system upgrade?

I currently have a 921, 811 and two bedroom SD receivers along with a dish 500 and another dish for the 61.5. Can I simply buy or lease a 622 and integrate it into my current system? Or, do I need to replace all of my mpeg 2 receivers and/or get a dish 1000. I'm not interested in HD...

921 Owners: My 9 day guide is back!

I keep having to re-boot daily both my 921 and 811 to get guide data past the present show. Something has definitly changed in the last week or two.

942 Degrading OTA HD signal ?

I have the same problem with my Dish 811 when connected via DVI. Washed out and less vibrant. Component looks great. Same thing on my 921. I always assumed it was the DVI input calibration on my Sony LCD but I guess it could be the receiver. Try connecting the 942 with component video one time...
