Thanks. In addition to the freezing and going black while watching, there have also been shows that have not recorded. The show will appear in the DVR Recordings but nothing plays. That also sounds like a connection or alignment issue. I'll have them schedule a service call.

Thanks for asking and answering, guys. Saves me a trip to MI to play tech support. My mom was telling me about this and was saying her Hopper was freezing up. I had her reboot and when she came back, it's was working. I guess she hadn't tried changing the channel.

My parents 722 has been experience frequent freezing over past couple of months. Hard reboots only fix it temporarily. I had Dish send them a new box that I'll be installing this week when I over the holiday. They have the service plan.
