    It's been fun...

After 22 years and 7 months almost to the day, I have severed my relationship with Dish today. I know the typical response by most readers of this type of announcement, especially from someone who has been dormant on this board for several years, is an angry "Don't let the door hit you on your...

Frustrated by numerous program guide issues

As Rhett Butler so eloquently stated: "Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn." Where the problem originates is not my concern. There is a problem that has been reported to the provider. The provider is the one to figure out where the issue originates and should rectify it quickly!

Frustrated by numerous program guide issues

Because of the FCC OTA repack, two Dayton channels (26 and 43) went off the air. Virtual channels 26 (CW) and 43 (ION) are now sub-channels of RF channel 50 along with virtual channel 2 (NBC). All three channels show the NBC program listings on Dish's guide info.

Frustrated by numerous program guide issues

I was wondering why LateNite wasn't recording this week. The guide was goofy.

    Telemundo and other Spanish Networks

The good thing about this is I finally got to see WAPA America and realized how little I was missing. ...Other than local news.

Why does music go out before HD on our commercial Dish system at work

It is probably a single dish pointed at two or three different satellites. 110, 119 and 129. Most HD is on 110. Music is at 119 so music will go out first since it's farther west as the weather rolls in from the west.

Dish VIP722. No HD channels. Fewer satellites than previous

The day I have to turn in my VIP receiver is the day I stop Dish service. It's nothing more than a bad switch or a misaligned dish, or something in the way between the satellite and the dish. Call Dish, have them come out to replace the switch/LNB or realign the dish. Last time this happened...

    Univision Pulls Channels from DISH

Goes to show how much I actually watch Univision any more. I just noticed it gone day before yesterday. The two channels they have to temporarily replace it seem okay.

    METV Channel 247

Cincinnati market METV is only available via OTA 5.2. I am fairly certain the same holds true for the Dayton, OH market. METV is on 7.2 there.

Roku good alternative to no Dish DVR

With my primary Dish DVR out of commission for the last week or so I was forced to try to find a way to view some programs I would have recorded. DishAnywhere is an alternative. However, the bloated web interface makes my old laptop beg for mercy (picture freezes and incredibly long page load...

So... you are saying she was wrong, right?

This is why I avoid calling Dish at all costs

No... she was incorrect totally and absolutely. She knew we were talking about the 622 and the DVR functionality INCLUDING being able to set manual timers is available out of the box without guide data. AND I had also explained to her I had the entire 44 hour guide since it finished updating...

This is why I avoid calling Dish at all costs

First post in a while, and of course it's strictly to vent about CSRs at Dish. For those that don't know me I have been a Dish subscriber since April 1997. My 622 went into an endless reboot cycle two weeks ago. I tried unplugging for a day twice, removing and replacing card, and then just...

DISH confronts low customer satisfaction culture

I'm not sure large cable/satellite companies can win on this front. Customer expectations are often times unrealistic. I don't care how much you listen. If the person speaking is making unattainable demands all yo do is set yourself up for more disappointed customers. I want 100% A La Carte...

    No sound on some channels

What Miner said. I had that issue pop up and it was the alternate audio. station sometimes use alternate audio such as DVS or another language on some programs, on some programs. Most of the programming line-up may also simulcast of the main audio on the Alternate track. So when some...

Why don't Adult Swim/ Nick@Nite have their own channels?

I'm trying to remember WAAAAYYYY back to the beginning of the cable channel explosion in the very early 80s... Nickelodeon (commercial free at the time) went off the air at 7pm. The transponder space was used for something else after 7. Later, they came up with a "different" channel, "Nick at...
