    Is my 811 useless?

I've got an old E* 811, is it really useful anymore, or would an informed person use it as a paperweight? Got D* last year, never got rid of E* equipment yet.

    High gain dish

I have a co-worker who had total signal loss from snow. His Dish Net dish was pole mounted close to the ground, and when the signal went out, and nothing else fixed it, he went out into the snowstorm, wiped the snow off of his dish, went back inside and had good signal again.

Switch to VIP 211 from 811...

Could I just add the 61.5 dish myself, hook to multiswitch, swap out 211 Rcvr for 811, and be done, or do you recommend having installer do it?

Switch to VIP 211 from 811...

I am considering a switch to the 211 HD from the 811 HD, in part because all 4 of my 811's so far have sucked, and to add more Hd channels, like NFL HD. I currently have the superdish, do I need to add another dish? Can it be wired in to the multiswitch on back of the 811/ therefore, is...

    211 hook up

If I'm understanding you correctly, you have local cable hooked up to antenna jack on the back of the 211, and you can watch the 211, but you can't watch any of the cable channels, correct? You should be able to just shut off the 211, and the cable channels should tune as if the 211 was not...

DVR 625 + HD Antenna = Will it work?

John, I think he means the Hd tuner is in his TV, and wants to switch between SD from his 625, and HD OTA tuned by his TV. Being a newbie, he probably bought one of the many Tv antennas out there that are labeled by the maker as an HDTV antenna, no matter what the facts. Some people, close...

DVR 625 + HD Antenna = Will it work?

First, it sounds like you have antenna problems.. Have you checked antennaweb.org yet? If not, what is your zip code? Link below, will let you switch between your 625 receiver and antenna. Other much cheaper versions, $5.00 or so, would have a switch at the TV for this...

Dish Network to Discount OTA Antennas for HD

Rvanya, Antennaweb says if you put your antenna 300 feet up, you may get NBC and CW from Wichita, at 400 feet, you add ABC, and PBS from OKC. At 500 feet, you add CBS from OKC. I'd believe what your installer said...

    DVR 625 swap tv1 to tv2

TV1 tuner output is in the living room. TV2 tuner output goes to the bedroom. While in the living room, using the TV1 tuner output, you are watching a show you like. Part of the way through, the DVR is set to record a different channel on the TV1 tuner, but no one is using TV2 tuner. Is...

    DVR 625 swap tv1 to tv2

Could I just use two splitter/combiners, join TV1 and TV2 with one, then split that to the two tv's, getting TV1 output on, say, channel 4 at either TV, and TV2 output on, say channel 30, so that switching back and forth from TV1 to TV2 signal would be just changing from channel 4 to channel 30...

    DVR 625 swap tv1 to tv2

Pepper's sounds about right. Sorry Clancy, should have left more details. Don't want to run extra cable, and tv has only one input (75 ohm RF) anyway. With one two-tuner receiver, with TV1 output going to living room with one cable from box to tv, and TV2 output going to bedroom with one...
