Media General Stations Removed from DISH, Agreement Reached

That's one thing I miss about Erie, I never read anything about the owners of those stations having disputes with cable and/or satellite providers. Here, on the other hand, almost every station is a network O&O in both markets that are carried on Comcast (save for Tribune's WPIX and WPHL), and...

Superstations No Longer Offered A La Carte Effective 9/19

Funny how they did this not long after I left Dish and moved back here to New Jersey. I subscribed to WWOR and WPIX back in Erie because I am a native of this area. Erie has no MyNetworkTV affiliate at present outside of Time Warner subscribers who have WUAB out of Cleveland, so any Dish...

Switching providers in the coming weeks

With the move back to NJ, my cousin, who I am moving in with, and I have decided to drop Dish. We're gonna go with Comcast. I will continue to come to this site, I'll be posting mostly on the Comcast board. We've weighed our options for the past few days, and a provider where we can watch our...

    Unused receiver question

I may be moving back to New Jersey in the coming months. My cousin and his wife, my sister, and I may be living together, and they want me to bring my Dish service if I do move in with them. I'm currently using a 722k for my living room and my bedroom. I also own a 625 that's been inactive...

    DISH Channel Moves Today...

Yeah, I read that. Wrestling ain't what it used to be. But I still watch it anyway for the actual wrestling, plus I'm a fan of some WWE guys and alot of TNA guys from their WWF/WWE and WCW days.

    DISH Channel Moves Today...

Just updated the timers for Impact Wrestling. Didn't get to see last night's show because it was too late by the time I found out about this move. But I did read the spoilers.

Dish HD vs Disney (DISH sort of won...)

It's not going to be that easy. Disney/ESPN will certainly try to appeal the ruling, so the wait for those HD channels could be longer.

How to manually add digital channel

I had that happen with WFXP (Fox Erie) when I first got the OTA module. Turned out, that station's signal strength is 100%. I didn't question it, as it always comes in fine.

    How long with Dish?

Since December 2010. Got tired of Time Warner's crap. I was gonna go back to DirecTV, but then I remembered that Dish has two Superstations from my home market (WWOR 9 and WPIX 11), plus I had heard from a few friends who switched directly from DirecTV to Dish in this area that they weren't...

    Disconnecting phone from receiver temporarily

All I have connected to my receiver is broadband. All I have landline service for is dry loop DSL, as I have unlimited everything on my cell. Dish never pestered me about connecting a phone line to my receiver. So as long as you at least have broadband connected to your receiver, you're good.

new dishanywhere.com website not working... sorta

I haven't had any problems with the new site. In fact, you all my remember a month ago when I was having problems getting live TV to work for DishOnline. As we all know, TV has cancellations every season. When I started using the new site, the problems I posted about went through their...

Is it possible to get the "superstations?"

The only way distant networks will ever go away is if every market were to have all of the Big 4 networks available in their local packages. If AAD were to stop distributing the distants, Dish could always contract with another third party and lease transponder space to them for the out of...

Is it possible to get the "superstations?"

Yep, still that way. Although some are predicting that AAD will probably go back to offering distants in HD now that Dish is no longer selling them to RV customers. Just like with the years old prediction that the Superstations are "about to go away," I'd take that with a grain of salt.

Will using component color connection deliver an HD picture?

I was using component cables all throughout my subscription to Time Warner, and again for the first few months I had the 722k, before I finally gave in and switched to HDMI. The picture comes in just fine.

Is it possible to get the "superstations?"

The PQ on the Superstations will look a bit grainy if you watch them on an HD set. They'll look better if you watch them through Dish Anywhere. And as has been mentioned, they're only available outside of their native markets in SD.

So how many of you guys plan to boycott CBS on Sunday?...

The sad thing about Lewis' case, unlike OJ, the whole murder thing hasn't stuck with him for the most part. Especially Ravens fans, even if he were to come out and admit to murder, the fans will still love him and find some excuse like "Oh, he was just kidding" or something like that.

So how many of you guys plan to boycott CBS on Sunday?...

I like watching the Super Bowl every year regardless of what team is in it. This year, my 49ers happen to be participating. The Price is Right has always been a favorite of mine, so no boycotting there. Same with Let's Make a Deal, going back to the Monty Hall days, so no boycotting there either.

Changes to All American Direct channels????

Wasted no time updating my timers for Let's Make a Deal and Price is Right. Weren't the distants in the 240s for like, ever? It's only been 2 years with Dish for me, but I've read about how they were in the 240s even before the '06 court ordered shutdown of Dish-delivered home DNS and...

I tried to get Dish this Week.

I never went through retailers for satellite TV service. For DirecTV, I went through Verizon, as they offered, and I believe still offer, DirecTV service bundled with their phone and DSL services. For Dish, I went directly through the company. For future reference, just stay away from...

Can I get more information on prepaid for dish network?

Some people like the option of paying for things upfront so that they can get it out of the way. Plus it's convenient for if you have people living in the house who like to run up bills, they can't order Pay Per View with the remote, the only way to order those events on Flex is by phone or...

Can I get more information on prepaid for dish network?

I'm on a flex account. When I called to order service, I was able to purchase the receiver through the company, pay for flex activation, paid the first month's bill, and someone came out and installed the dish a few days later. They also brought the receiver I had purchased. I wonder if a new...
