    OK, I'm impressed...

Well, first satellite ever was 1997 DirecTV system that I bought and installed myself. Then in 2002 I switched to Dish, and honestly, never been impressed with their technology. Have had 301, 811, 211K, and now the hopper with one joey. It has been about 24 hours and I know big change from 301's...

More HD to move from 61.5 to 72.7?

OK my .02... Why is anyone surprised by this? The fact that Dish Network is moving content to another bird that no one has? How many satellite slots do they have? Heck, it is a wonder they've kept stuff on 61.5 this long. If they move it to another slot, then you have to spend more money to get...

    Dish Security Conversion Schedule

OK, got cards for 301's 2 months or so ago, but NODA for 211K. No pop-ups that I've seen (though honestly, haven't been watching LOTS of TV lately) What up with that? And as far as bye-bye hackers, LOL come now, you know people out there won't rest until they hack new security... wish it too...

OTA antenna & Dish HD locals

You'll see them mapped together... I went in and put in the HD channel in my favorite list and left out SD channel so I only had to browse through one of them... When you look in guide or flip channels it will go through every channel in order if you don't but if you just punch in channel number...

What can I do about lower signal strength?

Few days into upgrade and I am a happy camper... Couldn't be happier to be honest... 211 seems like a solid receiver and I am happy to have upgraded to it (wouldn't mind upgrading to 622 or 722 either, but doubt I could get them for free, LOL) Haven't been keeping up with this, but has USB...

What can I do about lower signal strength?

OK, on my 301's it says that "signal meter has been modified" and to check help to see details... Anyways, it says that it might appear lower now but signal is the same. So I stand corrected, you are right and I was wrong... On 211 it says nothing, but on 301's it says this... Don't know if any...

    Forced 811 upgrade questions

The only thing I didn't like about the 211 is that it didn't have very many outputs (only HDMI, optical audio, and 1 composite output) and no inputs like the 811 did. Beyond this, I'm very happy. They gave me $10 credit for my 811, but i wasn't forced to let them take it... I didn't have any...

What can I do about lower signal strength?

Alright, well I'll wait and see what happens when it rains before I will mess with anything. I'm actually quite happy, like the receiver (how much smaller can they go? LOL) very impressed with everything really... Will have to get DVI to HDMI cable so I can use my component input on my TV for my...

What can I do about lower signal strength?

Well, on my 301s they both show very similar numbers that the 211 shows on signal strength... And on the 211, signal meter goes to 125, not 100...

What can I do about lower signal strength?

Well, just because it is "good" doesn't mean that it can't be better... I'm not complaining about the install (I'm actually happy with it), I just know that this will bug me in the long run. I am wanting to get the strongest signal that I can on a clear day, so that it will go a little...

What can I do about lower signal strength?

My upgrade from 811 to 211 satellite receiver. OK, had two 301's and one 811 on DISH 500 with DP quad LNBF... Now, I have two 301's, brand new 211 and a 1000.2 with DP+ triple LNBF (110, 119, and 129). My signal strength on 110 and 119 went from good average of 95 up (some transponders might...

    OTA Indoor Antenna

it all depends on what is between you and the TV tower... I live in Oklahoma, and I pull in all of my UHF stations from OKC and Tulsa (live 40 miles west of Tulsa and something like 65-75 miles from OKC towers all with a $39.99 amplified indoor antenna from Wal-Mart... VHF is a different story...

Why do dishnetwork use an installer on upgrade?

They send tech out so they can steal your stuff... And so they can install spy software on your computers and spy cameras... Follow the tech around when he is there, or he'll wire your house up so Dish Network can see everything you do... HHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAhAHAHAHA No, I'm teasing... I...

Dish One of my worst financial decisions ever

I switched from Directv after being a customer for seven years to Dish Network. Some things I liked, but for the most part I've regretted it ever since. It has been about 4 years now, so I know your pain. (Why haven't I switched back? Because I don't have the money to buy receivers and dish...)

Adding OTA-HD channels on your own

In my location, analog channel 23 is digital 22, however, once I go to 22 I am able to lock in, and it remaps it to 23. Once analog goes bye-bye, most likely, channels will return to their analog predecessors. DTV 23 will again be located at 23 instead of 22. When you go to antennaweb.org, and...

Adding OTA-HD channels on your own

You won't pick up any digital OTA (over the air) channels via cable tv (analog for that matter), nor would it work if you set receiver to cable instead of OTA. Where are you from the local channels broadcast towers? Can you receive your analog channels OTA (via an antenna hooked into your VCR...

So I put it to sleep...

Yes, but like I said, 23 and 2 do it for me too. 34 is another station that it will lock up on, but 23 does it on my 811 too. Now channel 2 is a weak channel for me, when it locked in before whatever happened to cause the lock-ups, best I ever got was around 65% signal strength. Sorry, maybe...

So I put it to sleep...

One thing, I noticed you live in Oklahoma. My 811 has had problems with same local channels as your 622. So I doubt it is software specific to 622. My 811: I can select some local channels, but if I select 23, 34 (OKC CW), and channel 2 (maybe others), it locks up, reboots (on my 811 takes...

Dish 811 Acting Up - No Apparent Cause

I'm sorry haven't seen this issue on my 811. I know it sucks, but I'd call Dish on it. Might get lucky (I agree it isn't fun calling them) and they might be able to walk you through a memory dump or something that can fix it.

Apply Here To Win A Dish 222 Receiver!

"I want to review the 222 receiver for SatelliteGuys and DishStore.NET" Why? Well I have a 811, that I would like to replace, but current situation doesn't allow this. If I won the 222, I would dedicate at least a week to playing with it, trying to break it and of course, report here my...

Getting a new roof; advice for dish placement

I never liked having my dish on my roof, and therefore I reworked it so that it would be pole mounted in my front yard. It would IMO be so much better to get your dish off of your roof. No more climbing onto roof to check dish, clean snow off of dish, etc...

    Audit Department HELL!

Truth is, this is no different than anything else in this world. Go after cheats, and you are more likely to hurt more of the good guys, and the cheats still continue to cheat. If Dish did this to me, I'd tell em to shut it off, and that I will never, ever, ever recommend them to anyone, even...

Anyone having trouble with Dish OTA HD tuners?

Want a fix? Go out and buy OTA tuner that isn't made by Dish Network. My 811 OTA tuner is crap, has been for months. Haven't been able to watch OTA without receiver locking up and rebooting. With another tuner, was able to pull in more stations, have stronger signal strength, less problems of...

    Bad Customers

I get so tired of technicians, CSR's, etc. coming around telling everyone how hard their job is. Bad customers, good customers, and the ugly I guess. It is a job! Nothing personal. Why must everyone, from CSR's to software engineers come here and complain because they aren't understood by...
