    Anybody going to downgrade services?

I downgraded last month, I dropped HBO. So I guess I'll have to trim off some more come March . These price increases are saving money. Every year they have one I'll downgrade till I'm gone from D* altogather, Then we'll see if "Somebody up there loves me " . Now, I have Total Choice plus locals...

    Missing first anniversary gift

How do you quallify for the free Showtime 3 month deal ? I've been with D* since Oct. 2001 and have all the movie channels except Showtime, and I've never got this deal.

    Rate Increase for DirecTV

Well, sounds like $85.97 is not enough for D* from me. Two extra recievers+ Total choice plus w/ locals+ HBO, MAX, Starz. I guess I'll have to do a little down grading. Plus the new interactive features will not even work with my current recievers. What incentives is it for me to pay more to...

    Introducing the Directv Mix Channels

No, I've heard it will only function 100% on the D10 recievers and above. I guess for us all weather freaks as " hdtvtechno" put it, there's always weather.com for local weather. Unless you want to buy a new reciever that supports the new interactive content.

    Introducing the Directv Mix Channels

The way I understand it the only interactive recievers will be the D10 and up. Us with the old "WINK" interactive rec. will be left in the dark as for interactive content. I thought I remember a little over a year when I purchased my RCA486 that they said it was upgradable, so much for that...

Wd-40 would be your best bet, the PAM cooking spray will get sticky over time and get really nasty. Hope this helps.

If you like PQ it might be time to leave Directv

Cool I can watch the Showtime ch. Thats the only package I don't subscribe to except for the sports. And not a sports nut. Thanks for the tip LOBO2999. As for PQ on D* I've been pretty satisfied, I don't have HD yet but SD is ok by me at this time. As for E* I've been there and won't be going...

    Auto Custom Channel Lists?

My RCA is a DRD486RH and it has this ability. I'm not really sure of the mod # on the Hughes that has the ability to set channels you receive to make custom list. Maybe someone else can chime in with that info. Hope that helps a little.

    Auto Custom Channel Lists?

I'm pretty sure my RCA receiver has the ability to create a list from the channels I receive. And I know some of the Hughes receivers have this option.

    Anyone own a RCA DRD486?

Yes the antenna comes with the 486. I have this reciever and I think it works great. It attaches on the back with an " F" connector just like the coax cable and allows you to change channels or what ever approx 100' away thru walls and floors.

    I left Dish for Direct.

I too started out with D* then switched to E* because I thought it was a better deal at the time, But now I'm back with D*. I have to agree with you about E* customer service ( not very friendly) or helpful. Glad to see you made the switch, Happy Directv'n

MP, go to www.directv.com /DTVAPP/Dishpointer action.do and put in your zip that should tell you exactally where the dish needs to point. Hope that helps

    Which Receiver and Which Dish

Hello Trouper, I like the RCA brand. I do not have the Tivo but every one says they are the best. The oval ( Phase III dish) is a must have if you ever plan on going HDTV. Kinda future proofing your self, also if you want Nasa and the other PI ch. and maybe your locals depending on where your...

    Free bigger dish????

Trouthead, Just call Directv and tell them you are intrested in getting Nasa and the other PI channels. And they will sell you a Phase 3 dish for $49.95+ shiping and installation. If you tell D* that you know of others that have got the dish for free they will most likely waive the $49.95 fee...
