Interesting. I ordered the sports pack this evening and was told what used to be Gameplan would be rolled into the sports pack.

To me it's not about the PAC's product as much as it's the time zone difference. Everyone in the South and Midwest is passed out from drinking by the time the PAC gets cranked up.

My prediction is $EC network and the LHN will be on Dtv by August 14th.

These conference networks aren't built to show marquee games. They will put some interesting games just to generate viewers but most will be lower tier games I.E. Vandy vs Miss State. The same is true for the B1G. You will never see Mich vs Ohio St on the B1G network.

I "moved" to my parents in the Greensboro, NC market because here in the Raleigh market our "local" MLB team is Washington instead of Atlanta. OTA with AM21....problem solved.

I do this very thing. Get a phase III dish (smaller) and an SL3 LNB. I have a 400w inverter and two marine batteries. Get a LCD screen, HD receiver, HDMI cable and a lot of beer.

Good question. Since Dish had RZ on their sports pack, I would guess that is a DirecTV decision. I'd guess both Dish and DirecTV pays a fee for the rights to the channel and then decide for themselves how to maximize the return.

Fine...leave it there. Just make it available on Sports Pack would be my pitch to DTV. To me, DTV has more to gain via SP subs than it will ever lose from ST subs. By and large, ST subs are bought by bars and individuals wanting to watch "their team" from another market. I doubt very few...

Just my opinion but I would imagine the sports pack biz would go up quite a bit even if they raise if from 12.99 to say 15.99/mo with the RZ. I believe the ST buyers see value in watching their out of market team more so than extra football games, thus, I can't see it being a risk of losing...

About the only thing I'll miss from Dish. I'm too cheap to get ST.

I actually disagree with this....having done both, the minor inconvenience of an extra plug (PI) trumps the nightmare of repeating the setup and mixing and matching non-SWM and SWM.
