    SD Picture Quality

I am wondering about the SD picture quality too. Since D* has a lot more capacity with the new satellites and all, have they increased their bitrates OR lowered the compression on the SD channels? Thanks

No TNTHD for Sunday Ticket? TNT takes the Hit

Yes. I like football, mostly college football. Used to coach junior high football. I like basketball too, again college basketball. For me it was like this.... You go into a restaurant on Sunday and the menu says for $10 you get a salad, steak, and baked potato. After you order they bring...

No TNTHD for Sunday Ticket? TNT takes the Hit

I left too. Am enjoying NGC-HD and my other HD channels very much thank you.

No TNTHD for Sunday Ticket? TNT takes the Hit

Fortunately they didn't interrrupt the 2006 Scrabble championship on ESPN or the poker game on ESPN2

    DirecTV Touts HD Ambitions

I won't be a sub after Tuesday. This most recent fiasco with TNT-HD and now supposedly turning off HDNET(not confirmed as far as I know) and the way that management didn't even tell their employees much less subscribers woke me up to how they feel about their subs. Question? It is now...

    DirecTV Touts HD Ambitions

Given the sorry state of management at D* I doubt those 2 new sats will make all that much difference even if they do get launched successfully. Then D* will not want to pay for the HD programming services because it would cut into Ruperts profit margin. I knew that D* management was a joke...

No TNTHD for Sunday Ticket? TNT takes the Hit

I just counted the number of full-time shopping channels in the guide and I find 9 channels that carry shopping full-time ( 3 of them are jewelry channels ) . Thats not counting the channels that carry shopping at least 20 hours a day like i-network. But did D* management drop those channels...

No TNTHD for Sunday Ticket? TNT takes the Hit

GET THIS Just got off the phone with a 2nd CSR to cancel my service and get return instructions to send the H20 receiver back. This CSR says they aren't pulling TNT-HD or using it for NFL-ST. Says it is just a problem they are having with the H20 receiver and they are broadcasting on channel...

No TNTHD for Sunday Ticket? TNT takes the Hit

Check the HD programming package at D* website.... http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/packProg/channelChart2.jsp?assetId=1100084 It lists TNT-HD channel 75 as the very 1st channel as thought they are proud of it. And, there is no asterisk or note to indicate that it is available only 6 days a week...

No TNTHD for Sunday Ticket? TNT takes the Hit

Just got off the phone with a CSR and was told that TNT-HD will be pulled EVERY Sunday until 8:pm until football season ends this Winter. Section D of the D* customer service agreement... (d) Our Programming Changes. Many changing considerations affect the availability, cost and quality of...

    DirecTV or Dish??? Help!!

I agree with rkr, go with E* since anything D* tells you is not to be taken literally. They do what they want and the only thing that matters is keeping the NFL-ST money flowing in.

No TNTHD for Sunday Ticket? TNT takes the Hit

That is so totally NOT the point. HD subscribers are paying for TNT-HD, the D* programming link on their website lists it, it is part of the agreed upon programming when a customer subscribes to HD programming, it is one of the channels that a customer evaluates when deciding whether to go with...

No TNTHD for Sunday Ticket? TNT takes the Hit

This means that subscribers who pay for HD programming are NOT getting what they are paying for at least in part. Talk about false advertising. I was considering switching to E* anyway and this just tipped the scales for me.

Why aren't all the HD NFLST channels on my MPEG2 guide????

Well, they all show up in the guide on my H20 but I can't watch a single one of them. Every channel just says "Channel Not Purchased". I thought this was free NFL-ST preview weekend?

    Ch-101 "New" Professional Championship Gaming

This is going to be a new HD channel and they don't have enough capacity to carry NGC-HD?

H20 Guide - Tell me how...

I get all of the season preview shows and anything else to do with football with the games themselves sprinkled in. The best I could do was search for the quote "at" in 'football' and 'sports' That way I got the games where visitor is AT home and it eliminated all of the previews and wrapups...

H20 Guide - Tell me how...

OK, I must be missing something but don't know what it is with my H20. I want to find all football games televised today. I created a find that searches for the keyword FOOTBALL in all sports events, doesn't work. It finds football previews and nfl preseason but no college football games...

HD Games on NFL Network Spotted!

The guide on my H20 also showed an HD game starting on 212 at 3pm but a few minutes later when I checked the HD logo had been removed from the guide. I think they are getting it from NFL in HD and then downrezzing to SD for 212 and someone in the D* control room forgot to remove the HD logo...

Dish Adds Another HD Channel - Food Network

Yeah, we don't need HD anyway. It's over rated. Don't know why anyone even buys those expensive HD televisions anyway. Only a few channels are in HD. SD is good enough for anybody for the next couple of years, right?

Dish Adds Another HD Channel - Food Network

It is NOT JUST FoodHD... E* also has National Geographic HD and that is the HD channel I want more than any other. That and the better SD PQ are why I am considering leaving D*

    Software Update for the H20-600

It is extremely odd to leave this feature out of their top of the line receiver if D* management really is committed to it. This is one more of those management issues that leave me wondering if anyone is at the wheel or the ship is drifting with the currents.

    Inhd ?

The fact is Even if you get HD-LIL from D*, you STILL have to have an antenna to get all of the HD locals anyway since D* doesn't carry all of them, only the big3 or 4. I would still have to have an antenna to get my favorite programming from my local PBS-HD station. So if you have to have...

    Inhd ?

The execs who decided that HD-LIL was more of a priority than national HD programming are the ones who should be demoted. By postponing new HD channels until 2007 they effectively ceded the new HD customers market to Dish. And for what? HD locals that most people can get OTA anyway...
