DirecTV told me at CEDIA Today that TNT-HD is down on Sunday for the balance of the season. I think I'll be at their booth Sunday at 11AM Mountain and ask for the NASCAR race in HD.

Just removed HD Pack and downgraded from Total Choice Premier to Total Choice. If everyone removes the HD-pack, this will send a strong message to Directv. Bastards!!!!!

Sorry dude but I need my ESPN's and HDNet but I totally am against not showing Nascar in HD and I am not a Nascar fan but I still put in my e-mails and phone calls protesting there methods.
Also there is no need for the foul remarks that will get you no where.;)

According to three PM's and combined with a posting in the TechKnow forum at forums.directv.com

Here is what is going on:

For the next two Sundays (The remaining two NASCAR-HD races on TNT-HD)
TNT-HD will be available.... HDNET will be the "bandwith" used.

After those two weeks, TNT-HD will be down for the rest of the NFL season.

isn't that funny.... :D I thought that was the whole idea of paid tv.... you paid to watch what you want... but these days a new revolutionary ideas has come to the table... we (the provider--directv) will do the thinking for you and decide what you want to watch on Sundays afternoon.... (hilarious)...

Just received a call from D* and he said TNTHD would be on this Sunday and the Bandwith would be STOLEN from HDNET.........which is a station we PAY for.
So we start over again LOL

I quess I am at a loss as to what you people want first you complain there taking away Nascar. ( Which I agree was wrong ).
Many people on this forum and others say steal the bandwidth from HDNET which it looks like D* may do now your gonna start all over again whinning and asking for more credits because they shut down 5 cents worth of programming on Sunday afternoon.
OH did you have plans for watching the repeat programming on HDNet Sunday??;)

Nope...........as long as I see the race in HD could give a rats ass where they STEAL it from
But just a note, they are STEALING from another channel which I think is unfair. Hope Cuban stuck it to them good for allowing them to do that.

Yeah, I don't think we'd be complaining as much if TNT was airing stretch-o-vision old movies and law and order episodes, but when their number one rated sports event is broadcast in HD, people get unhappy.

I am at a lost as to why you don't understand it is wrong to take away any programming you pay for regardless if it's a nickel or whatever. Why doesn't D* just not show a couple of the games in HD on Sunday and leave the programming I pay for alone?

Well, if D* told Sunday Ticket subscribers that they would get X number of games in HD, then the fault lies on DirecTV, because they promised more than they can deliver. False advertising? I think so.

Retention told me today that TNT-HD as well as HDNet will be down on Sundays during the NFL season. I'm still contemplating paying the $250 early cancellation fee, considering everything else D* has lied to me about since my upgrade to HD.

I have had NUMEROUS contacts inform me that TNT-HD will be on the next two weeks for the NASCAR event..... HDNet will be taken down the next two weeks.

After that... TNT-HD will be done each sunday.

.

Go to the D* website, e-mail them about your feelings on this matter.

I did and got this reply:

Dear Mr. Jones,

Thanks for asking about TNT HD. I know it can be frustrating when the HD programming you’re looking for isn’t on, and I understand that HD programming on TNT is important to you. In order to provide extra channel capacity for high definition NFL SUNDAY TICKET SuperFan games, we’ve had to make some temporary changes to our programming. Specifically, we’ve reduced the number of Pay Per View movie choices and taken down select channels, Sundays during game time. However, TNT HD will remain active on 9/17 and 9/24 in order to show the NASCAR races scheduled for those days. Beginning on 10/1 TNT HD will be unavailable on Sundays during NFL game time.

This change will only be for one day a week during the NFL regular season. TNT HD will return on Sundays at 8:30 pm Eastern (6:30 pm Mountain; 5:30 pm Pacific) and during game time the standard definition TNT will still be available.

You are important to us and we certainly want to keep you as a customer. A service specialist will call you in the next 48 Hours to discuss what we can do to meet your needs.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, and appreciate your understanding. Thank you for your patience, and for giving us the chance to respond to your concerns.

Sincerely,

Stacia

They called and gave me HD programming, Showtime, Starz and Encore
free for 6 months. If this doesn't satisfy you, you could probably get out of your contract. The squeeky wheel gets the grease.

Same old stuff but back to TNT, I called Direc and told them I wanted out they indicated I still have until Nov 2007 and it would cost $300 to get out of the agreement I thought Dish was bad but Direc is worse. I am glad I still have my Big Dish up and running as soon as Nov 2007 I am done with the Pizza dish. The person I talked to at Direc said at this time next year they will not have anymore bandwidth problems with the satellites going up next year.
