There are a lot of bars who have already forked over $10,000 or more to get the equipment installed for streaming via Everpass. They now all know they just pissed that money away.
Yup... But if they have their DIRECTV still setup they can use both systems. There are a lot of bars who have already forked over $10,000 or more to get the equipment installed for streaming via Everpass. They now all know they just pissed that money away.
I'm good friends with the owner of medium/large bar. He told me one day that for every dollar he invests in the bar he gets $100 in return. Smaller bars are a different story. But yeah, waiting until the last minute to make this decision sucks. Especially after announcing that satellite delivery was going away after last years season. There are a lot of bars who have already forked over $10,000 or more to get the equipment installed for streaming via Everpass. That's just it, this wasn't an actual investment...nothing was really added to make the bar more attractive to new customers, just money down the drain. They could have used that $10k for something that would have actually been a genuine improvement.I'm good friends with the owner of medium/large bar. I agree 100 percent. On the bright side I see two advantages to making this investment now. 1. Streaming is immune to rain fade. There is nothing worse than watching a close game and the satellite signal drops. 2. Much better guest internet experience due to increased bandwidth. That's just it, this wasn't an actual investment...nothing was really added to make the bar more attractive to new customers, just money down the drain. Directv's churn has greatly slowed down, now losing a average of 200,000 per quarter ( was 500,000 just a few years ago), last reported number was 8.2 Million as of 1Q2026, but I have no idea how it breaks down, how many subscribers are steaming or satellite for example. Will DTV still be on satellite in eight years?
i walso wonder about residential subs. since some bought it from YTTV and they said it was so bad they would never pay for it again.. now YTTV has uped there game and made changes.I guess the streaming solution isn't working out too well for bars and restaraunts

So there will be NFL on Netflix via DTV Satellite? That would better news for bars and clubs that don't even have Sunday Ticket. It will include Prime, Peacock and Netflix games as well.

DirecTV already had distribution of Thursday Night Football before EverPass was formed… now they distribute all of Amazon's Prime Video Sports offerings (including NBA) and Apple TV's MLB, MLS, and F1Yes, other EverPass services like the Netflix, Peacock and Thursday Night Football games are available to be subscribed to, and distributed through DirecTV.
It's also non-exclusive. Charger signed a deal to bring EverPass to businesses last week.

Possibly ... at this point they can pretty much condense down to only a few Sats, if they haven't already ... depending on how long the fuel lasts, 8 years, maybe. Will DTV still be on satellite in eight years?
Those games are not restricted to Bars or Sunday Ticket ...So there will be NFL on Netflix via DTV Satellite? That would better news for bars and clubs that don't even have Sunday Ticket.
Commercial establishments like bars are not allowed to stream Netflix or Peacock. Until now the only way for them to legally show their exclusive NFL games was via Everpass's streaming platform or be in the home market of one of the teams playing where it's carried by a local station. Those games are not restricted to Bars or Sunday Ticket ...

It's the same with Prime Video's Thursday Night Football, except in that case commercial satellite customers got the game on channel 9550 as long as they subscribed to a package with ESPN.
Nothing changed - still only through YouTubeWhat about ST for residential
