Can anyone tell me if the HR20 is the same as the HR10 in terms of the need for contiunous connection to a land line (telephone)? My Tivo only needed to connect once and I have been able to use it without being connected all the time, Does the HR20 need to dial in at all in order to use the DVR functions? Any help would be appreciated.

No it doesn't. The HR-10 was more tivo than it was a directv ird and needed to call Tivo to activate it's DVR functions. The HR-20 is all D* box needing only to call for PPV orders.
