I thought I'd post a quick update. Last night, the greyed-out channels are now available in the guide and I can record them. I've got no explanation of how this got corrected. I did activate a new receiver a couple of nights ago but it seems odd that that would fix the problem.

Well, I followed your advice, iceturkee, and I was able to record every game this weekend. So, thank you for that! Your workaround much proves that the problem is NOT related to any MLB related prohibition. Another round of calls to Directv is in order. We'll see what happens.
