Does DTV still use "HD lite"?

The salesman at Sam's told me that DTV was no longer using HD lite. He said that he knew what I was walking about and that they were only using HD lite,my definition is 1920x1080 native resolution, not having the receiver set up the resolution from 1440x1080. He also told me that Dish had...

Can someone please help me with some info on DTV?

I am considering getting DTV because I may drop my second service provider and the Dish Network HD picture is simply not as good as my other service provider, so I thought I would give DTV a try. I have only had really bad experience with calling DTV. I do not care about the DTV v/s Dish...

Is this normal when DTV is trying to get new customers?

I was really hoping someone would tell me why DTV was worth having...As I mentioned ... I think Dish Network's HD does not look like real HD.

Is this normal when DTV is trying to get new customers?

I was a little frustrated with E* because they seem to have a bad compression ratio. I can tell a huge difference in the local cable company’s picture and the E* HD picture. Although I have read the DTV picture is not really any better, I decided to give them a try just to see it for myself...

    apartment mgmt got me!

I once put one on a 4X4 in bucket of cement. It worked great until it blew over and broke the reflector ....I just had to get a new reflector( plate, pan). I'm just glad that it didn't fall backwards and break the glass door! My landlaord made me get renter's insurance, but that ws OK with me.

Is this info correct about a new customer?

Yes, but doesn't any new customer even if they buy the equipment upfront, have a 12 month commitment?

Is this info correct about a new customer?

Thanks...I just wanted to make sure that I was correct. I'm having a hard time understanding why so many people flock to DTV. There are about twice as many DTV dishes as there are Dish Network dishes in this area. I just like to check, from time to time, to see if I could get a better deal.

Is this info correct about a new customer?

I was looking at the webpage and they have the HD DVR to RENT for $399. Is that correct? $299 to rent? and a 24 month commitment. If this is the case...Dish's deal is a lot better than I thought!! I could buy the MPEG 4 DVR for $499, not have a commitment, then sell it when I'm through...

$180 a little high for a pole install?

Who is charging you this money? Did you call D* and ask how much it would cost directly through them?

    Buying Own Receiver

If you compare it to a S-Video input, I agree. But, if you are going to comapre the picture when connected with coax t Dish and coax on DTV...I disagree. The TV2 will out put in MTS stereo, which I do no think any DTV receiver will do, that I know of. I wanted to go to DTV...I wanted one...

    D* HD 2 year commit?

The reason why I don't have DTV today is that commitmnet! I was once told that, if I were to purchase my own equipment, they could change to a one year commitment.....then was told by another CSR, that was not possible. I really do not like 2 year commitments, a lot can change...job...

Has anyone tried the PPC aquatight and does anyone remember Raychem EZF?

I posted this over in the E* forum, but nobody had tried the new PPC connectors...My question is ...Which tool does it take? Would you really use them indoors also? Also, I used a connector, back in the late 90's, called Raychem EZF. I really liked them because they were in cartridges, so...

    Will Directv match prices?

that is true. But, you can find the 942 cheaper from either a retailer or online. The 942 can actually be used as if it were 2 different receivers, as far as I know, the D* cannot. You can also get a 921 for much less than the 942! You should be able to find one for around $400 WITHOUT...

    Directv 8

It's been like that for a while....If you read some other threads, you will see that Central America lost some transponders when it happened.

What is the best deal for a new customer who wants a DVR with a one year commitment?

I was wondering if someone on here could help me with some D* info. I was looking into getting the D* DVR, but I really do not like the two year commitment.....before you start saying things like life is a commitment....My job is contracted from year to year....next year, I could be living in...

    Can someone please help me

You have to go through the menu scrren to pull up the screen with the signal strength. You then will have to peak the dish. The sat will be very close to Expressvu's 91. I am always shocked to hear that Canadians would want TV from the US because it's more expensive than EV.

    Ebay Receiver question

I was told last month they stopped reactivating used receivers I was going to get DTV, but the CSR told me that they had stopped activating used equipment completely. He said I would have to either do the 2 year promotion or purchase a new DVR with a 1 year commitment. Maybe he was wrong...

    DirecTV alacarte

The truth is that there are some customers with Dish Network in a similar situation. Dish Network once allowed customers to build their own package and pay per channel; those customers can't change their grandfathered packages either. However, E* will allow you to purchase HBO and their HD...

How Do I Subscribe To DTV From Canada?

Yes, DTV is expensive, much more than Expressvu and a little more, with some packages, than Dish Network. That's why I was wondering as to why you would want DTV in Canada when Expressvu and *C seem to better bargains. If you want American programming, have you looked into Dish Network...

How Do I Subscribe To DTV From Canada?

yes, you can contact a broker. I'm not sure how they will get you the equipment with the new way of doing business. I assume you could get the equipment from an online retialer and get the service hooked up with a broker. You will probably have a year long commitmeant and have to pay...

How Do I Subscribe To DTV From Canada?

I thought this thread was about getting DTV in Canada. Why would you want DTV in Canada? Just curious because it seems you get almost everything on DTV,on EV, just for less. I was thinking about getting DTV recently... I found out that they will not activate used equipment...

    Mexico?

download it and zoom in. that site used to have larger pics, but there are now advertisements where the large pics once were. I don't know where another footprint of 101 would be. http://www.satcodx7.com/2591/eng/

    Mexico?

From the look of the DTV footprint http://www.satcodx.info/DTV/DTV123KB.gif It does not look like DTV will work well in southern Mexico. Have you thought about Star Choice? I have heard that one does well in Mexico.
