New life coming for AMC 2(yes Iceberg AMC 2)

AMC-15 helped with signal issues on the Dayton locals when it replaced AMC-2 at 105. I remember when AMC-15 was launched. It was tested at 136° and I posted this screenshot back in October 2004. :D

    Goodbye to The Tube

A message of great thanks to THE TUBE After giving this news some time to sink in, I realized my earlier post in this thread was a bit selfish (I had found this thread at the end of a long day at work). So, in an attempt to brighten the mood in this thread a little, let me be the first to say...

    Goodbye to The Tube

Nobody here can have any idea what all I've gone through, and what I've put my poor girlfriend through, to receive WXIX 19's (relatively) low powered digital transmission in the Dayton area from behind a little hill and through many tall trees. I just finished it all Saturday, and now this. :(...

SatelliteAV Motorized System Giveaway, We Have a Winner!

As my entry, I would choose the Visionsat, also for its DVR capability. This complete system would allow me to set up my parents with FTA. My dad has been intrigued by it since I started - he liked The Tube when I had it (before it left Ku) and he would love the sports feeds. :)

    Analog (Ku) observations

I have been bitten by the analog bug... :) I recently got a Toshiba TRX-80 analog receiver and will soon be getting a remote that should work for it (thanks Davage). It's currently only set to C band, and I only have a Ku band dish, but I've played around with it some and made some interesting...

    Congrats Iceberg

How about some chopped up Icebergers (made from ground up hackers). :D

    Hello all complete noob here...

Check 89°W (Galaxy 28) for some ABC national news stuff, "ABC News Now". And LyngSat reports an NBC news channel at 103°W (AMC 1). I used to watch ABC News Now sometimes, it wasn't too bad. I'm not sure on the current, latest status of those channels though.

    Hello all complete noob here...

And you really should get a bigger dish. In my opinion, the best FTA stuff is at 123°W, but you need a 30" or larger dish for that.

    WNGS airing NBC PGA coverage...?

Ok, it's back to "RTN 11" now, nevermind... :)

    WNGS airing NBC PGA coverage...?

I flipped to WNGS and it has the NBC coverage of the PGA Deutsche Bank Championship, complete with the NBC/Olympic bug in the corner. I know they'll air feeds from other channels to cover scheduled things (like MLB games) but this is a little stranger than normal since it doesn't...

Toshiba analog receiver - no remote :(

Cool, PM sent. :) And thanks for the info, 9999.

Toshiba analog receiver - no remote :(

Thanks for the info, lumpkin666. I'll probably go after one of those replacement remotes... Unless... Davage, let me know when you get back if you have what you think you have. :) Thanks again.

Toshiba analog receiver - no remote :(

I acquired a Toshiba analog VCII capable receiver, except it didn't come with its remote control. Does anyone know of a universal remote control that has a working code for these? Specifically, it's the TRX-80. Thanks. :)

    2 4x1 DISEQC Switch + 22 Khz switch ?

I think I would put DiSEqC switches before the 22kHz switches (with respect to the devices leading up to the LNBs). This would be similar to an idea I had a few years ago, in this post: http://www.satelliteguys.us/free-air-fta-discussion/15808-insane-setup-possible.html

    FTA Tuneup!

Or reinstallation/upgrade day for me. ;) I spent all day yesterday taking down my SG2100 motor, Winegard 76cm, and 2 old LNBs (DBS & FSS), and replacing all that with a DG240 motor, Fortec Star 100cm, and QPH-031 LNB (DBS & FSS). I bought the DG240 and 100cm Saturday at Sadoun's sale (and got...

    FTA HD Receivers Summary

I'll add, I've found some info on the Integra IT910s and IT910s22 (different hardware revisions). Those do not have any DiSEqC support. Otherwise they seem similar to the IT912s, including analog OTA/cable capability.

Stuff like this makes me shake my head

A couple weeks ago I had a guy over for a sort of "site survey" for an antenna and tower to get OTA stuff from a distant city. He was confused with my setup (as any sane person would be, understandably). So I explained all of my various sources of TV signals. He and his assistant immediately...
