Yesterday I replaced the small square antenna that came with the Onyx with the round one that I had from my original Stratus radio. I'll see if that makes a difference. Hope it isn't the radio itself.
I'm n the eastern side of Rochester.
I've had the Onyx for close to 2 years. I'm happy with it. The RAV has an AUX input, so I don't use the FM modulation. I get the occasional drop ut if there is a dense stand of trees or anything else that obstructs line of site. I like the remote for changing channels.

It's been rainy and very misty today here in the Rochester NY area. Today I started getting a message on the screen of my Onyx radio. It said the above, the I would get reception for a few minutes, then the same message. Is it due to the weather or something else. I think I have an old...
Last weekend we dropped my wife's son off at Logan and then took I90 to home in western NY. Strangely I still had reception while driving in the tunnels under Boston. Anyone have an idea why I still had recption while in the tunnels?
Luckily we have a classical station here in Rochester, NY. You can always use the Pandora app on either Dish or any smart phone/tablet to create a classical station. Or get Tunein Radio and link to various classical stations. I've done all of the above.
Why bother with the SirusXM channel. Download the Tunein App and subscribe for free to CBC Toronto. That's what I've done on both my Ipod Touch and my android phone.
Turned my Stratus 6 on Thur morning. It updated and my preset for CBC changed on it's own to 169. The rest of the Canadian stations are clustered around 169.
Got a new car in March. Sirius was only available in a 900 navigation package, so I got a Stratus 6 Sirius radio for self install. Had to go with that so I could get cbc. If it's added to XM, I may get a SiriusXM radio so I can get more channels.
Was listening to CBC on my Stratus 6 Sirius radio today. Mention was made that the channel would be "merging" and changing channels in May. Does this mean they will be availiave on XM?
