You are getting close, the * means that it's executable. You could try to change to the directory first before trying to run it. Make sure that you have the ./ before the program name. This means 'just run from the current directory' i.e cd /DISK2 ./tcpdump -i eth0

Yup, nothing you can do about it. Renaming a file with as an existing file name erases the original file. The programmers could have created a simple check and verify, and prompt the user if the action of overwriting is intended.

I agree, with the overclocking(AZBox calls it hardware acceleration) set to "ON" I get 366Mhz cpu frequency, which is good enough for most high bite rate content but not ALL of it. Next generation may just have enough poop to do the job properly. Edit: High bit rate recording.
