    DSR4410 Remote management (SNMP)

And you don't need that port to poll SNMP.

    DSR4410 Remote management (SNMP)

Well, it might be possible to poll the SNMP just using normal snmp commands without knowing the telnet password, depending on what revision of SNMP is running. Although we are agreed, gaining telnet access would be a huge benefit for all commercial IRD's. I'm assuming (hoping) all DCII stuff...

    DSR4410 Remote management (SNMP)

If it's SNMP based control, ports 161 and 162 should be popping up, unless SNMP is disabled (didn't see that in the manual) Depending on the version of SNMP, you might not need telnet access, although it would be nice to have. If you have a non-Windows machine lying around, or know how to use...

    DSR4410 Remote management (SNMP)

I'm not familiar with this model, but I am familiar with VxWorks. I'll poke around and see what I can find, but in production equipment like this, alot of times they have to have all the passwords left at default for everything to work, other than minor user adds. If you're pointing a web...

    DigiCipher II Single Channel Encoder

Amateur Radio solved all that. At the uplink, I had to beg for parts. I just make my own now :)

    DigiCipher II Single Channel Encoder

Dunno, you might have a gem or a boat anchor. Pic, model #? RCA is rare on the newer (relative) commercial IRD's.

Oops, I meant output, but I got confused as we were talking about plugs :P

Can you post a model number, pic of the back of your IRD, and describe the inputs?

@photoman76: True, but sometimes they are not :) On another note, what's up with 5/11?

If your rx has baseband output, BNC to RCA should do. Good luck with audio (dXLR here, still haven't figured it out)

Is there a decent guide that lists DCII and it's derivatives? I've never seen one on any of the usual suspects. And I'm thinking I just answered my own question :P

    SES-1

Well, you answered the question. My parents live outside of the US, and I'm thinking about giving 4DTV a shot somewhere SES1 doesn't beam, so I guess not having it doesn't matter much. Still, it would be nice to dust off the 4801 and see what's up there :)

Do the STB's even work with this anymore? I have a 3m languishing. This is the only HITS i can't see, and Turbo mode, and Megapipe/stream, and blah blah blah. Those TP aren't going anywhere.

4dtv battery threshhold and front cover needed.

Always replace the battery, even if you don't need it. The original batteries just die, you cannot measure it (manufacturing, chemistry?). I would not recommend doing so while the unit is plugged in, for Darwin's sake. They get this a lot with arcade cabs, you jump it just like a car while you...
