    I was just checking and the Angels will have 3 first round picks next year, and three supplemental picks. That's one upside of losing free agents.

    Spending money doesn't always equate to a winning product. Take the Rays or Twins. The Yanks don't have a good farm system or scouts so they must spend money to try and stay competitive.

    They have another first baseman in the minors (Kendry Morales) that could step in if Texiera leaves. He has similar numbers to Kotch with not as good defense.
